I feel sorry for Cruise. IN his two years here, he hasn't really managed to convince anyone of the talent he must have possessed to persuade Arsene Wenger to pick him in a Champions League game. However, his two years here have coincided with one of the worst periods in our history. He has been in and out of the team because of injury; because of politics surrounding whether Nicholson should be picked or not; because of loss of form. When he first broke into the team under Ling, it did look like he may be the long-term answer to Nicholson's declining form and then he got injured. He has been here under Ling, Taylor, Knill & Hargreaves - four managers in a year and it may be that he needs a run in the team to get to grips with the rigours of first-team football. He seems a likeable character and I hope supporters do not single him out for the special abuse the likes of Bodin has received (and therefore never prospered) over the last couple of years.

Fair comment, my guess is the Popside will cruiseify (geddit?) him on the first home game of the season and then at every further home game. They seem to prefer to criticise than to encourage.

Good luck Tom.

Good luck to Tom, hopefully he'll find some decent form. Get his head down and zip up and down the left for us and put some decent crosses in. Not a lot to ask is it?

RussianGull wishes Tom good luck before stressing that hopefully Tom will find some form and kick on before asking if it's not too much to ask for.
I totally agree with the good luck to Tom bit RG but as for the it's not too much to ask for bit, well lets have a look.
You see it all depends on what you consider as value for money. £400 a week wages means that he is now approaching the minimum wage bracket and the none security of the short term contract he's been given by the club committing himself to us by moving to the area proves to me why we are where we are and also where we deserve to be. Add to this the full time abuse that he'll probably get from the dildo's on the popside and on here and bingo, Torquay United in a nutshell. Good luck Tom.
No wonder we Good luck Tom.

Looks like the end for him as a TUFC player:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/31814801
(Taking away from how he has performed - I cannot see him being offered a contract with his injury history)

Shame as from what I have been told he is a nice lad who looks the part in training but never really stepped up on matchdays.

He isn't good enough but I wish him a speedy recovery. Signing him at the start of this season was the first of Hargreaves mistakes in all honesty.
