Managers Sacked
I am not sure that writing a few sentences of criticism on a forum counts as undermining.
I think some of what has been written has been undermining, but it wasn't really my purpose to have a dig, it was just my response to Gloucester's post, musing about the recruitment and selection of football managers

OK I'll give him till 12
Agreed, put the conference table up after 7 games and 10 games to show the fine margins and how quickly the picture can change in football, your right about the Northwich game, 1.1 Buckle out, 93rd minute penalty win 2.1 Buckle and the team never looked back.royalgull wrote: Went to the Northwich home game and when they equalised there were Buckle Out banners on the Pop, we scored a last kick penalty and won the next load of games and there were IN Buckle we Trust banners at Wembley.
Got to love football supporters.
And that's why I still say , it's to early to sack AK, 10 games isn't a 3rd of the way through the season, not saying AK will turn it around, but a Northwich style slice of luck and who knows.

I wouldn't be sure about Chris Hargreaves. I would have thought that if he was really interested in management he would have started somewhere in the nonleague scene and tried to progress. He is coaching I think at Excretia so it tends to suggest he is really looking at a coaching career. I woudn't want to employ someone who has only a few coaching badges to his name. it takes a lot more than coaching to run a team successfully.usagullmichigan wrote:Chris Hargreaves please
Much as I would like Chris to succeed I would hate it if he came in untried and you all cried out for his head after ten games. It would ruin the esteem you hold him in.

More than anything else, a manager needs to be a motivator.

If things don't change the club has no choice as I think most of us could have, the record he's got this season.forevertufc wrote: Agreed, put the conference table up after 7 games and 10 games to show the fine margins and how quickly the picture can change in football, your right about the Northwich game, 1.1 Buckle out, 93rd minute penalty win 2.1 Buckle and the team never looked back.

Chris Hargreaves has got a nice secure well paid job, and i doubt either him or his surf board are in a hurry to leave Bournemouth. It's a great area, plus you can go out for a pint with Gazza in the evenings.
As a club, Bournemouth are now rolling in money, they're just outside the play off places which might see them challenge for promotion to the Premier League. Hargreaves clearly loves it :
In July 2013 it was announced that Hargreaves would be working alongside AFC Bournemouth management duo Eddie Howe and Jason Tindall with the first team, whilst also aiding new development coach Stephen Purches.
Hargreaves told afcb.co.uk...
"It`s been a pleasure working with the first team. They are great set of lads and the camaraderie is unbelievably good,"
"Working with Eddie and Jason has been a really good experience. Their attention to detail is excellent and people probably don`t realise how much work they put in.
"It`s a step in the direction I want to go in, but at the moment I`m happy to be working in the Championship for a really good club with a great coaching staff and set of players. It couldn`t be better."

Giving that up to join a broke club, which gets little money through the turnstiles, and possibly only a matter of months from returning to the Conference would be a massive step in the wrong direction for Hargreaves and his family. A month or two of disappointing results and people would be calling for his head, and he'd have given up all the well paid security of his present job for nothing. Even if there was a vacancy it would be a mad move for Chris.
