To be fair, he may be a limited player but he put de ball in de net. I'd have him right now if it wasn't going to cost us a lot. Liked what I saw from him in the 2/3 games I saw. Same old Elliott, right place right time, loads of running, takes his chances.
i think hes better for the time at southend.

and if he had been fully fit when he joined us, he would have scored more goals and his involvement would have been better.

Yep, same old Benyon. However, he's added to his game . . . . . . he falls over less and doesn't get caught offside so frequently. ;-)

Thanks Elliot for the goals against Rovers, precisely what was expected.

Surely if true we are the favourites to get him in for once.

Stanley offer absolutely nothing that we don't, why would he go there?

Indeed, cr*p ground, cr*p crowd, cr*p town, no prospects of doing anything whatsoever beyond surviving. Elliott would be utterly mad to choose Accrington over any other team in the League. :na:

Nothing against you Gullno4, but I do find rumours like this one very hard to believe, quite simply because as things stand Accrington Stanley haven't even got a Manager! It could be they opt for a return of John Coleman or they promote one of Leam Richardson's (former Manager - now Asst Mgr at Chesterfield) assistants, there is even a possibility that James Beattie (Player/Coach) might get it ... but surely until such time as they make a decision on who is Managing the club, there is little point in speculating who they might sign?

dont think they could afford him as there wage structure is one of the lowest in the league.

cp gull - I read it on twitter, just thought I'd mention it! I highly doubt he'd go there! I think a couple of years ago their manager said that their weekly wage bill was under 10k, he'd take a considerable chunk of that no doubt!

I can't believe that anybody would want to sign for Accrington Stanley unless they actually lived close to the place. I am not sure about their financial power as they did sign Francis Jeffers and James Beattie which couldn't have been cheap but every other reason in my mind would put you off..awful place, dead atmosphere, very small crowds and an inevitability that you will be fighting to stay up. I will be surprised..no..amazed if Benyon signs for them.
I would really be surprised if he didn't sign for you as to be honest looking from the outside although he looked a reasonable striker against us he has not set the world alight and because of that I don't see there being a host of clubs clambering for his signature. I really believe that certain players are meant for certain clubs and Benyon IMO fits that bill with yourselves.
