But there ya go he makes a good point you cant be liked by all as I am sure ross reid isn't liked by all nor paul or chris.. SO tomorrow night a change of tact for the macc game I am going to be quieter... Thanks though in all seriousness I am a distance not the finished article but I doubt any terrace fan/ com is enjoy the com if you can tomorrow....
Try not to curb your enthusiasm steve, theres nothing wrong with a bit of over exuberance or passion. Its better than listening to a couple of people drone on in a monotone where it seems obvious they couldnt give a monkeys about what they are commentating on, this happens on Radio Devon often . Even listening to Talksport, BBC Radio 5 live, BBC MOTD etc , Sky or ITV, there are commentators who talk absolute b0ll0ck$, couldnt care less and they hardly talk about the game, you can hardly tell whats going on.
At least when yourself and a few others like Dave thomas, chris Fleet, Paul Mulhearn etc are on commo it is a bit interesting, we can tell what is going on and there is a bit of decent insight and analysis. When you are in the public arena in any form, even as small as local radio football commentaries you are always going to get a few people criticise, even though you are doing it to help out and you love our football club somebody will still always have a pop.
Keep doing what you do, you are doing it well. You have kept improving since you started, with Paul you make a good commo team as you bounce off each other, that moment when Luke young scored his " greatest goal ever" winner against Wrexham was pure radio gold.
Trust me nobody is as over the top, irritating and twattish on the radio as Gordon sparkes.
