The fact this the current squad is 'top of budget' is a little worrying as well.
...but not surprising, in my opinion.
I would say that the likes of Harding, Hawley, Pearce and even the likes of Chapell, Benyon and Cameron won't have come cheap. I have voiced my concerns before, and with Scunny and Bury fans claiming that Knill overspending was some of the cause of their financial woes, I am a tad wary of him doing the same here. While we all want success on the pitch, running the club into debt and financial insecurity isn't the way to do it. If Mozika is coming then I highly doubt he is cheap either, with the term "mercenary" thrown around by Bury fans when he left.
The downside of all this is that because we are a footballing outpost and Knill has persuaded all of his signings to move to the area, I'd say it is highly likely that he has promised them all first team football, which has allowed for some complacent performances. I just hope that Knill has the balls to mix it up because at the moment we are no better than last season, which is alarming. I also understand that this point isn't really relevant to the topic, but oh well.
