Who will be our next manager?

Post by Gullscorer »

Whether it's next month or next season (assuming we have one), I'm putting a £5 bet on Ashley Yeoman.. :~D

Seriously though, the club is a slowly sinking ship, and it seems nothing is being done or can be done to plug the leak. What are the options..??

You are probably right he was at Plainmoor long enough to attain legend status! I would have gone for Steve Tully, but he may look on it as a backward step! ;-)

I think we need to get behind the current manager and start making positive plans for the future, managers in many cases are only a short term solution some will get better results than others but there are no superstars without the support of a good and supportive structure at a club and may I say a budget to reflect the clubs existence as a viable entity for the foreseeable future.

Its like any struggling business, it needs to look where savings can be made and ride out the storm till things improve with structure and organisation, Kevin is managing in the storm at the moment, could anyone do it better who knows at this time? Get behind the manager and club as together we are stronger, if we don't we will only tear the club apart.

David you're absolutely right and all hands must pull together to ride out the storm, but, to continue the sinking ship analogy, we may survive sinking to a lower level, but will we actually stay afloat long enough to survive the storm? And it's a perfect storm, both financial and existential. I'm donating, along with others, a regular £10 to help with the bailing out, but the captain and crew appear to be fighting a losing battle. Yes we should all be cheering them on, but for many if not most of us all hope is gone. Perhaps a lull in the storm, a couple of wins, will give everyone renewed energy, and our heroes may win through and save the ship. But even if we get behind the club and manager we may yet be doomed; that's what is so depressing for many people. It's not the kind of excitement they're looking for when they go to watch (or play) football..
