Will Hancox ...... er, why ??

Now don't get me wrong - I'm not putting down Will Hancox. Having never seen him play, I know nothing about him. I'm just puzzled why he has suddenly come to the fore. He was on the subs bench against Basingstoke, and even got a bit of game time, and then again at Altrincham. Yet Sam Chaney who Nicho rates as a good prospect doesn't get a look in. There's been no comment on here about his selection. To anyone who has seen him play, what position does he play and is he a prospect for the future ?

But as you know by my posts I rate Sam but don't want to put Kevin on trial.
I seen Hancock at Basingsoke he's quick and a worker no more.
Sam has the gift to make a pass and skill my kind of player, different type of players.
Sam is highly rated as a player but I think it may be a case of size does matter. I don't think so.
It could be that it was money Hancox may be free

You should have a listen to last weeks HE podcast, Nicho and Chairman Philips were on there and explained why Chaney and Yeoman have gone out on loan. For Chaney it sounds like he needs to learn how to deal with the physical side of the game. There were comparisons with O'Kane when he spent a year back in Norn Iron and a further season with us before breaking through in to the first team. The main thing he learnt in those two years seemingly being the ability to use his body to shield the ball from the physicality of the game so that his feet could do some talking.

Have Chaney and Yeoman (again) gone out on loan ? I haven't read anything about it. I agree that it would help Sam Chaney to get in some game practice somewhere. He certainly won't learn anything from watching the likes of Heslop from the Stands. I agree with Arcadia (and Nicho) that he has the ability to become a very good player and I personally think he should have been given a lot more game time than he has been given - that's the way he will learn.

I think as harsh as it sounds, we have probably come to the end of the line with Yeoman. Nicholson is the 6th manager to basically not select him and however meagre his wage may be, is one worth paying if we just keep sending him out on loan all the time?

With regard to Chaney, I have never seen anything like O'Kanesque talent in him and it puzzles me how he is rated so highly.

Yeoman came on as a sub for Bath at the weekend. A match which also saw Kaid Mohamed start his first game for them (and more importantly, score)!

Kaid Mohamed has not got a club and joined Bath pending the opening of the Transfer Window in January.

Could we afford him? I think he could be a good signing for us.

He's a good player and is definitely worth a look. The only concern would be that his best position (right wing) is where we actually have an in-form player, so money might better be spent on the spine of the team.
