Hi does anyone know any of the old Torquay run out songs. I know of for example Herb Alpert Al Banda but there must be others ? Thanks
Thanks Alex

Thanks Stefano Thank Alex found it now!
Not worried about what songs we've ran out to before, what we should be running out to is some songs like this.. or this.... not gord darn sweet Caroline.

This 'March of the Mods' used to get played a lot as well - most often, after games. Reminds me of being a kid (not when originally released but when the club still playing it in the 80s)
It seems the 45 discs from the 60s were still used well into the 80s. Fred Jago's favourites, perhaps.
Another Fred Jago staple...
...and of course this
TOTP audience always good value in these clips.
Lead singer has the look of Colin Stagg about him.

I think I see what you mean.
I remember Knill as a young centre-half with Halifax and then Swansea (part of the Swansea team that beat us in the play-offs, I think) He had a languid style but was great player at Div 4 level. Seem to remember he used to play with his long sleeves rolled up.

I quite like these choices, especially the second one. It has been used by a few teams in various american sports such as baseball and basketball. Oh and apparently Sussex County Cricket Club use it at 20/20 matches! The crowds clap along and build up an atmosphere (might not suit plainmoor then).
The song has also featured in various tv shows, events such as wrestlemania and films. i would really like to have this as entrance music at plainmoor.

You are my torquay, my only torquay, you make me happy when skies are grey, you'll never know, just, how much i love you, so don't take my torquay away.

Perhaps this would strike fear into the opposition...
PLus it has been used as intro music by 'local' band, Muse (and before them, The Smiths)

Strangely enough it was Pope Gregory the 9th inviting me for drinks aboard his steam yacht, the saucy sue currently wintering in montego bay with the England cricket team and the Balanese Goddess of plenty.
