Be there for the team

New manager and probably the toughest test to come tomorrow!

We cant afford another below 2000 crowd from our fans, we can make the difference tomorrow!

a positive result and equally important to raise confidence a good performance is what we need!

I'll be there tomorrow and i hope to see many in yellow!

Unfortunately tomorrow i may be at the Chesterfield v Gillingham game but i don't know if i mentioned it anywhere before but i'm going on tuesday night to the Wycombe game.

Either way you're spot on Mr Roar, get down Plainmoor in your numbers and get singing some songs. The Vale contingent definately will and this is the start of something new and vibrant so LET'S DO THIS MUTHAAAS!!!! :@ :@

(Note: The insertion of the word 'MUTHAAAS' is to accentuate the seriousness of saturday and to rally an army of yellow clad folk to attend Plainmoor to sing and make merriment. Notice how i 'got down with the yoof' and spelled it the way i did and not MOTHERS. I did this to mask the fact that i am now 36, to make it known that i'm a mover and shaker, well i shake a lot and hardly move but that's beside the point, and i also put it that way as i didn't want anyones mums turning up with crochet sets, gingerbread men recipes and a picnic. We're trying to look a bit hard over in the pop so we definatelty don't need a load of hormonal women on the 'pause turning up in their droves at half time with packed lunches. I'm sure we'd all rather eat horses in baps wouldn't we lads?! Lads? Lads? LADS? LAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAADDDDDDDDSSSSSSSSSSSS!!! :-o

What is the appropriate accompaniment to horseburgers anyway? Horseradish sauce? Geoff Horsfield's own unique brand of garnish or even some demerera shergar. (Geddit!? Shergar - sugar?)

Christ i'm wasted on here. Literally. :P Tonight i will be after consuming the distinguished array of northern based real ales i purchased today for toneet in the manner of an obdurate alcoholic ( see REAL ALE THREAD ON THE POPSIDE ). I perhaps should be in a secure unit, or in bed with a Lemsip, either way it's a no win situation. What's the betting i get ill for Tuesday and can't make it and we win 6-5 after being 5 down at half time? It happened to me for the Aldershot game in October so it could happen again. I've spent the best part of a week looking after a poorly toddler and if you've ever been in that situation you'll know what fun it is and how much you yearn for the ale of an evening. I reckon i'll get the lurgee from my daughter and be ill for tuesday. I NEED more than Lemsip and real ale. Any ideas?

Anyway, with regards the mums thing. In no way must that happen on the pop on saturday. We need some controlled aggression and some incessant noise and shouts of supports and the players will respond to this i know they will. They just need to take their earphones out thats all. That has been the problem all this season, when we all are shouting 'PING ONE IN NICO!!' away at Rotherham, Nico can't hear us as he is halfway through Let Me Entertain You! :'( Maybe he should swap track listings with Billy Bodin as he might benefit from that himself instead of what he has had on repeat for much of the season, When I Was Your Man by Bruno Mars. :)

Anyway, i'm off down a dark alley with this and don't know how to get back so just get behind the lads and i'm sure we are going to win this. COYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Strangely enough it was Pope Gregory the 9th inviting me for drinks aboard his steam yacht, the saucy sue currently wintering in montego bay with the England cricket team and the Balanese Goddess of plenty.

Think it goes with out saying Mr Roar. The negativity was growing ( I am guilty as charged on that ) And things quite rightly came to a head on Tuesday night. This is in no way meant as a "I told you so" Or points scoring exercise, there is no glory for anyone predicting a relegation scrap.

But thats the thing so, so many of us saw it coming and have been posting our concerns for some time, it seemed from the outside looking in that the decision makers at the club either did not see it, or just went into the results would come don't panic mode.

Either way they have stood up now, have made the tough decision so many of us were asking/pleading for, whether that decision has been made in time remains to be seen. But the one thing us fans must realise now, is the club have acted, they have done their bit, now it is over to us fans to do ours, we can either support loud and proud and help keep the team in League 2, or we can dessert and help the club down. Relegation can not be an option, so we must do our bit. COYY :scarf:

great post forever, i cant get there tommorow but will be there there on tuesday and as said i think that will be the turning point, nobody thinks we will get much against vale but you never know we seem to raise our game against these teams at the top, either way we have to get behind them on them , being negative is not an option, we need you all, i think on tuesday everyone needs to get to plainmoor and support the team the club the players, wouldnt be great if the people of torbay got behind the club instead of sitting at home in there armchairs and got up to the match, COME ON YOU YELLOWS! :scarf: :scarf: :scarf: :scarf: :scarf: :scarf: :scarf: :scarf: :scarf: :scarf: :scarf: :scarf: :scarf: :scarf: :scarf: :scarf: :scarf: :scarf: :scarf: :scarf: :scarf: :scarf: :scarf: :scarf: :scarf:

Agreed in return RR, been a season ticket holder for 6 seasons now, and have not missed a single home match in that time, Tuesday, sadly something important has come up and there is no way out of it for me, so it will be first game at home I will have missed in a very long time but will be shouting loud from 20 miles away, and hopefully will be the last I miss.

I have read a number of posts across the TU related forums, and some have suggested, would relegation to the conference really be a bad thing, well yes it would, last time we all know our club went to the conference with nothing, over the last 5 years not only have we rebuilt the team, the club also has spent a fortune on rebuilding it's infrustructure. Relegation to the conference for a start would see the clubs income drop with the loss of the football League share, and average attendance figures would drop, not just from the away side but home aswell. And I am not sure the bill for "off field" rebuilding has been paid in full.

We would also lose a very large chunck, if not all our youth set ups funding, which is dependant on being a football League club, so would our club lose it's best youngters from the youth team, probaly, yes. And from the 8-16 year olds, the club can not charge for training/equipment as it gets grants from the F/L, as a non-league that would dissappear, so parents would not only be faced with a £200 bill for the full kit, they would be faced with shelling out £30-40 a month, to cover all costs, so how many would walk away.

Would relegation kill the club alltogether, probably not, in the position the club is in today, would relegation put the clubs long term future at risk. Yes, it would not be overly dramatic to say it would every bit out our club's future at risk, the board know it, thats why they have taken this action, and thats why our club whether you like chest beating or not, needs it's fans on side.

to true forever, i feel we will be ok and stay up, but we need to town behind us now, the part time fans need to get there and support the club and the team, if only people realised how important it is for the town and the community to have a league team,. they need us more than ever. :scarf: :scarf: :scarf: :scarf: :scarf: :scarf: :scarf: :scarf:

I can't be there tomorrow but from the positive response to AK's appointment and the feeling of hope I would like to think the gate will be at least 2,500 to 2,800. If you are going then shout yer heads off, wave those flags and make some noise!!!!!!!!!! I'll be keeping tabs in the Angel Hotel in Grantham as I am at my mate's (3rd) wedding tomorrow. I'll have a few at the bar come what may, result wise, as that's all I can do from up there. As for relegation? that's not even a topic for discussion as it would end our club in the long term. It's just not worth thinking about so get behind the guys and be the         :scarf: :scarf: :scarf: :scarf: :scarf: :scarf: :scarf: 12th man

Gate helped by the Vale fans but the home noise did spur on our boys espicially in the first half!

turn up again Tuesday, play the same system (but with a right winger rather than Jarvis)
shout loud and i wouldnt be surprised to see 3 points

Without stating the obvious, this should go without saying. If you're going along to the game, don't just moan, get involved and be a part of the solution not the problem.

.....And not join in with the kids who were down the end of the popside in the second half against Vale with a drum, singing 'We're going down with the Argyle' and loads of other negative chants. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. Sure the players love hearing their own 'supporters' singing stuff like that....

A lot of them don't know any better and wisdom and not getting carried away as part of a gang only comes with maturity. I agree it's not ideal for our players to be hearing negative shouts but i reckon when they come from a group of kids they'll take it with a pinch of salt anyway. It's more the grown men and older stalwarts shouting abuse that will have more of an effect on the players and it is perhaps they who should stay away as they should know better and they will have seen enough basement battles to see it doesn't work in the end. They haven't learned this yet though as they still do it but nevertheless, these young kids will see things differently in a few years time and at least they get their arses inside Plainmoor most weeks.

I'm not defending them just that cut them a bit of slack, i was a kid once 80 years ago on northern terraces with mates probably doing the same thing and i'm sure some of you were too. We get older and more knowledgable and there comes a point when you don't do it anymore, most of us do anyway.
