Keep Calm and Support the Team

Post by AustrianAndyGull »

:-D OK, deep breaths.

Just to clarify, i am extremely annoyed about this loanee situation, i want Ling out, we're going the wrong way, we play crap football, half of our team are out of form, we have no Rene for tomorrow and we've got no money.

Let's accept all that after we've had our moans and get down to Plainmoor tomorrow and give the lads some proper support. I'll be at Rochdale and the Wycombe home game this month so i'll give my support in those and the other away games for the rest of the season. For whatever i think of Ling and Bodin, it's Torquay i want safe and we've just got to get to the games and support the lads as much as we can now and hope we can pull away from the drop zone. I'm far from hapy about things but i'll never shout abuse at games and i always sing and shout support so i like to think that all the damage i do on here is made up for where it really counts, inside the ground and on the terraces.

I know i'm a miserable arse and totally unreasonable at times but i feel violated in some way by all things this season but i've got the will to carry on. I've got the will ( if not the cash ) to be spending over £150 making the stopover 600mile round trip in 2 weeks time but i've somehow found the money to go despite my kid needing some new clothes. I'll just make some out of fuzzy felt. I'm there loud and proud. Let's all get behind the players ( i won't boo Ling but i won't offer shouts of support either as i feel he has lost my respect ) and get those 3 points tomorrow!!

COYY!!!! :scarf: :red: :red:

PS: Do you reckon the burgers at Plainmoor are equine? :Z
With caterers getting things as cheap as poss i reckon there'd be a good chance!
Strangely enough it was Pope Gregory the 9th inviting me for drinks aboard his steam yacht, the saucy sue currently wintering in montego bay with the England cricket team and the Balanese Goddess of plenty.

Lets also remember we've lost just twice at Plainmoor all season, so we must be doing something right. I'm confident we'll win one of these next two.

Had we signed a decent loan player I would have gone tomorrow but not going now - whats the point in shelling out the best part of £70 to watch this dross. Supporting the team won't make a jot of difference, we are not good enough.

nice to see we are behind the team eh!,bloody hell arent we suppose to support our team through thick and thin, im presume some of you must have seen dave webbs team of the 80s, this is nowhere near so bad, the players need your support, look at the pasty men and the gas, near the bottom but the fans stick by them, real supporters, i can only begin to wonder how martin ling is feeling now if he reads this, come on get behind your team, it saddens me to see so call supporters getting at the club like this. :slap: :slap:

It is part and parcel of football ROADRUNNER, was listening to 606 on the way home last week, heard all about Chelsea fans demonstrating against their current manager before the game even began, and calling for Roman.A, the man who spent how many millions of his own money to pack his bags and leave. And it was not just Chelsea fans either.

This was going to be a season that promised so much and to this point has delivered nothing, the expectation levels around the club have risen massively, and so they bleedin should have, after two promotion near misses. yes that may well have been achieved off a middle 8 budget, however some people at and around the club can not have their cake and eat it. because things have not quite gone to plan this time round, we can not turn around and say, we are a small club with little money what do you expect.

Talk from the manager was about getting an extra 10 % out of the players allready at the club and new players coming in to improve the squad, talk also was going for promotion, yet here we are in Febuary and those famous old words "never again spring to mind" As we are not safe by no means. So the reaction of many fans is understandable.

That said, despite how some post, we on this site are all true fans, and I, as normal will be on the popside tommorrow supporting the team like I allways have. COYY.. :scarf:

i see what your saying forever but ive seen far worse seasons than this and managers survive, but this is one bad season out of the last 5, i know people want success we all do but turning your back on the team isnt going to help, this team needs all the support it can get, some come on get behind the gulls! I agree in return R-D, the team needs to secure another 13-15 points this season for safety that should not be a problem, however the team does need fans on side. As others have said go along to the game support the team, and leave our frustrations, moans and groans for Boots/Laces and fans sites.

I agree RR, everyone needs to be behind the boys and support them through the whole 90 minutes and I'll be doing that again from the pop as I do every week. Leave the moaning and groaning in the pub, at half time, after the game and on the forums (this is also what I do every week!). I think every fan does this, we've just seen a lot of moaning recently, due to the recent terrible performances.

You are pretty much correct in what you say there RR but for me it is just the way things have been conducted and handled which annoys the fans who for the most part are reasonable and so long as they know whats going on they can take things into account and feel like it's all under control. This hasn't been happening and it feels like i'm being lied to.

Another interesting aspect is the way i felt under Buckle in our first season when we avoided relegation in our first season back. We didn't play dross football that year, we played some good stuff and i remember when we beat Grimsby 3-0 near the end of the season at Blundell Park in the sunshine, we were safe and it was like a new beginning had started and the euphoria we all felt was amazing. That was a near relegation season and a long one but i enjoyed it.

Under Ling it feels dead, barren, lost, aimless, confused, all words i would attribute to his management this season and the performances in games. If we are to be in a relegation battle then i can deal with that but why do i feel that if this were the case, we just wouldn't get out of it and we'd go down with a wimper having not at least tried things a bit different. Comparing us struggling under Buckle and under Ling is interesting. At least under Buckle we had energy and life. I am so worried that i sound off at Ling and others and it makes me look like a dick, i just don't trust him to keep us up if we got roped in and that would be disastrous for me. So it's not about the fact that we are spolit with success these last 5 years it's about we have played some truly bad football that cannot possibly get us out of a hole that others are battling to get out of should we end up down there and others saying wait and see and be patient are a little naieve as very soon we won't have that luxury.
