FA Cup 1st Round

Post by MidDevon »

I notice that there are some great potential FA Draws, with several interesting teams just 1 game away from the 1st Round proper

http://www.thefa.com/TheFACup/Fixtures

A possible chance of meeting up with Paul Buckle again at Luton?
Potential massive media spotlight on a game if we draw the Metropolitan Police (who are strong favourites to progress against a team lower than them)
Meeting up with our old friends from Halifax again with a potential game against the newly form FC Halifax, or indeed FC United of Manchester
...or how about a long trip North to Workington? or Barrow or Gateshead (great for a Tuesday night replay!)

Having said all that......we already know we will probbaly draw Cheltenham away

We're getting Buxton away.
Strangely enough it was Pope Gregory the 9th inviting me for drinks aboard his steam yacht, the saucy sue currently wintering in montego bay with the England cricket team and the Balanese Goddess of plenty.

We'll probably get Carlisle away or someone else boring like Hartlepool. We never seem to get exciting cup games recently.

I would take the winner or Chippenham Town V Gloucester City FA but I reckon we will get Luton away!

Typical. Flippin typical. A top draw in the cup and I can't go and see it. Tiny miniscule Yate town draw Newport County at Home. Less than half a mile from our house and I find myself in Cardiff at an exhibition. If only the tie had been another day or better still why isn't this damned exhibition on another day then I could have seen Us at Rovers.. and then Yate against Newport. But then I don't get the luck. grrrrrrrrrrrrrr :@ :red:

Gloster, when is that game? I might take it in, I guess from your mention of the Rovers game its next weekend? As Ive worked ALL weekend this weekend, might spoil myself to a Football tastic one next!

Sure this will be discussed elsewhere, but on a side note, where are people drinking pre- Rovers? I fancy The Anchor, because thats my old uni haunt, but will go where most gulls will go.

Last season it was all away cup matches this year so far all home and another in the JPT if we beat Yeovil. So will probably be home again but then get a terrible draw like Rotherham or Crawley.

Away at Imber Court would be nice. Been there several times and also played there and it is a great set up. They would probably switch the game though, if not to us then to another London non-league ground.

Was going to say either Luton or Cambridge at home, I see however they have drawn together, so I will say the winners of that match at home...Luton so we can give Buckle so much needed feedback :) and Cambridge because of the Martin Ling conncetion either way it would give the match some added spice.

Cambridge away would be nice, Luton away would not be nice. In fact it would be very, very un-nice. It would be hell on earth second only to Accrington.

Dorchester away? Quite handy for us and we have a 100% cup record there. :)
