Bid for Bobby accepted and so the break up of last seasons squad is underway.

Would be gutting if this happened. Lingy did extraordinarily well pulling him out of the hat when we were in a similar situation last year, so we'll have to trust him to do the same if Bobby does move on. Poke's been released by Brighton...would be great to see him back here although I'd imagine plenty of L1 clubs will be sniffing around.

Didnt Olejnik say somewhere he'd only leave if he was garenteed to be first choice as he liked it down here?
I'd expect a big fee for the best goalkeeper in the bottom two divisions. Which is also the opinion of our manager. So I'd expect 400K+ but knowing us its probably under 200K.

Ultimately, although it's very frustrating, I feel more comfortable with this move for Bobby than the (proposed) Eunan move to Crawley. At least for Bobby this is a move to the Championship and with a club like Posh he has every chance of being their number1. Not only that, but it would be hard to deny Bobby his chance at the big (well biggish) time second time around after being released by Villa as a youngster and at 25 he deserves another crack.
I cannot imagine a scenario where he would turn them down, whereas I could with Eunan, but realistically it's more than likely that we have seen the last of them both.
As for possible replacement(s) well Pokey would be a good shout but if we wanted someone even more local .... well there is always David James who is available and is refusing to retire just yet.

I think Bobby will still be here next year.

Agree with CP about being more comfortable about Bobby to Posh than Eunan to Creepy. Like CP says, Bobby is at least Championship quality and could fit straight in IMO and he has been immense for us during his short stint at Torquay. He deserves his chance at a higher level if indeed that is what he wants. Eunan also deserves a move despite not having the best of seasons IMO. Ok so he got in the team of the year but i felt he could have done even better and certainly added a lot more goals than he actually did. Anyway, that aside there is no doubting he is a quality player too good for Torquay. He is also too good for Creepy and it's not as if Creepy are a long established league club with a great tradition and history who happen to have been in the doldrums and need reviving. Like Bradford or Sheffield United for example. Going to a club like this would be much more understandable but money talks and if he wants to sell his soul for one season of struggle in league 1 with a plastic club and no fans then thats up to him. What worries me is that if we lose Bobby and Eunan and maybe Ellis then it is more likely than not that the players who come in to replace them will be inferior as they are such great players at this level. This is seriously going to upset the team and perhaps we'll not do as well next season. Faith in Martin though, at least he's got rid of Atieno!
Strangely enough it was Pope Gregory the 9th inviting me for drinks aboard his steam yacht, the saucy sue currently wintering in montego bay with the England cricket team and the Balanese Goddess of plenty.
Just looking at keepers that are available and perhaps a more realistic target for us (than David James) would be Glenn Morris - recently released by Southend and so available on a free. He is a good age at 28 and having spent 8 years at Leyton Orient, a large part of which was spent with Lingy there as Manager, he would be someone who he would be very familiar with and would (presumably) be an affordable option. All of this, of course, assumes that Bobby will leave, I truly hope he doesn't but would be very surprised if he didn't.

Bobby's the best thing this club has seen in ages!!!

Provided we end up with £750,000 for Eunan, Bobby and Mark then let them go and we'll start again.
Matt.

J5 said, "ferrarilover is 100% correct"
but where do we get the new players from??
We get the players from other cllubs.
Lets not kid ourselves here, Eunan O'Kane, Mark Ellis are very replacable, Bobby.o admittly that one will be a lot harder, however there are keepers around like Pokey so with money to spend Lingy will come with something .

Argeed, Bobby.O was the one player we had with real genuine Championship quailty, we as a club were lucky to have him, and it will very hard to get alike for like replacment.
And despite some utter nonsense being spoken about a likely fee, it will no doubt be a lot higher than any other player who may leave the club.
