Don't you mean shovel ?

My spade refuses to be exploited since the end of slavery and now wants hourly rate times 1.5 for working on a Saturday.

My guess is a first pitch inspection will be made at 9.00am, then if ok and any remaining snow can be cleared in time, another inspection no later than 12.30pm.

All those who arrive with a shovel may well have time to take it home and still attend the match, if on.

The problem for some might not be how the shovel gets there and back, it will be using the effin thing.

Wouldn't it be easier to get a couple of JCBs in to do the job ?

I'd better add that if you haven't done any serious manual work recently then you're in for a nasty shock Monday. If you're aching Saturday night/Sunday morning then you won't be getting out of bed Monday. :O

Oh, and bring some sandwiches and a hot flask, you'll need it.

Look on the bright side, you'll get there and it's off. :(

'Don't you mean shovel ?'

Couldn't think of the word at the time but it doesn't matter...you knew what I meant.

Anyone been outside in the last hour and checked the temperature ?

I have, to check the car and the temp reads 1 degree C. Whether because of the weather I'll be able to get the car off the hill and up to Plainmoor in the morning is another matter.

I might have to walk up. :O

I shall be walking up due to the car being stuck in the lane....

With spades(shovels whatever) in our hands!

This joke, is precisely why dotnet needs a "like" button.

Most of the snow has gone from the grass parts of Ellacombe Green but there's still a coating on the all weather pitch.Fingers crossed then that there's no more snow overnight.

If anyone has a decent hard bristle yard broom then bring that aswell. I've got two decent brooms and a shovel and as long as I can get the car there I'll bring a rake too. It won't only be the pitch, there'll be terracing and access points, and a lighter covering of snow is easier to sweep than shovel.

Going bed now I've got to get up early tomorrow. :)

Matt.
This is precisely why it needs a "dislike" button as well.

There's been another dusting of snow overnight. :(

I'll walk to the end of the road in the next half hour to see if I can get the car down the hill.

If you are going to help out, then you have my fullest thanks, and I'm sure those of all the exiled fans. Hopefully the game's on and we get a result to make all the work worthwhile.

The temperature outside is 1.0 C at the moment. The snow is soft to walk on and not slippery on the slope. A few cars from my street have moved off and there are fresh tracks on the hill without skid marks. :O

It's not quite light yet but there's no wind or rain/sleet/snow and the sky is clear. There's about an inch/inch and a half of snow on the deck.

Gonna clear the snow off the car.I'll be back.
