"remembering "big dick edwards"
who always introduced himself with the above catchphrase,
when doing a pub gig back in the early 70`s
remember him playing for me at the white hart public house in plainmoor, ( my 18th birthday )
(anyone remember the white hart a mecca for a gulls fans back in the 70`s & 80`s )

Aye, big "Dick" wasn't small. Donkey Dick was no hoof merchant on the pitch though.

Dick signed from aston villa circa 1971,
spent every close season as a life guard at the livermead house hotel,
plus performing his special brand of country & western music & humour, around the pubs & clubs of south devon,
teamed up with "bruce white boots stuckey" in 1973 and became quite a successfull duo ( for approx 4/5 years ) untill their acrimonius split ( big dick floored bruce in the snooty fox public house, in st.marychurch )
never to sing " the wild rover again"
poor old stucks, happy days!
