1st torquay game on sat
1st torquay game on sat
i live just outside manchester , and my wife is taking my 11 year old son on sat for his first torquay game and he cannot wait. not to sure as to why he likes torquay second only to man utd maybe its the colour of the shirt being same as his junior football team or maybe because of helen off soccer am . its taken three days to get through to order the ticketS for the west stand , is the demand been good locally for the game ? I cannot attend the game as i will be at wembley for champ league final but will be in touch with my lad as to how the game is going on . i know most of the fans have not been to old trafford before but you will have a great time in and about manchester. the ground is 5 to 10 mins away from the centre ,taxi costing about £7 and there is a metro link from piccadilly running to old trafford cricket ground or salford quays which leaves you with a 5 min walk to ground costing a couple of pounds return and there about every 10 to 15 mins . There are a couple of pubs at end of warwick road along with chip shop , bookies off licence etc or down by salford quays there is a few more . I hope torquay get the result sat and the stretford end is rocking GOOD LUCK

Thanks for your best wishes and the information. Can't believe we've got a budding suppporter that lives in the shadow of Man Utd, when we can't find any in our own town! Good luck to United at Wembley too.

Thanks Manc19. Hope your lad has a great day and good luck at Wembley. Was working on Salford Quays for the Great Salford Swim in the shadow of Old Trafford earlier this month and it looks very impressive. Can't wait to see it on the inside!

What a great lad you have Manc19. Hope your wife and the boy have a day to remember. The atmosphere should be good so i'm sure they will enjoy it. Local intrest has been pretty good, I know that at 5pm last evening, we had 21 coaches booked, and folk have untill 5 tonight to book a supporters coach seat. So hopefully a few more.
Where are your two sitting?
Oh, and good luck for Man U on sat. Should be a cracking game.

If your wife can find the Sam Platts pub pre-match I'm sure your loved ones would really enjoy meeting genuine fans of our club in there. We're a friendly and welcoming set of fans.

Maybe your son is dropping mum and dad a hint as to where he would like to go for a holiday.

At 11 years of age he is probably well past the age of mucking about in the sand with a bucket and spade.
He is not too young or old though to sample the delights of the ENGLISH RIVIERA in late July/early August and also see a game or two at Plainmoor.
Mum and dad might also enjoy the holiday as well.

Absolutly brilliant
I would encourage you to allow his support of the Gulls. You will find he is very safe at Plainmoor and there is an awful lot less swearing and other less savoury things that often happen at other clubs. There is still a great atmosphere and there is a family stand.
There is an offer which we have taken up some times that may interest you if you visit Torbay, You can get a ticket for around £30 which includes a match day ticket. a Meal in our carvery. Programme and tea or coffee at half time with use of the carvery restuarant half time as well. It doesnt operate for every match but is avaiable for most matches.
For other information on things TUFC and where to stay. our association in Gloucestershire called the Gloucester Gulls and the clubs official site along with this forum and the TFF forum will have most of what he wants to find out.
Good luck on your sons support for the Gulls.
