Boreham Wood v Torquay Utd - Sat 21st January

Post by Admiral »

Surprised to not see a thread!

Hopefully the new signings can make an impact. BW are a strange one, it’s their second consecutive FA Cup run which, just like last season, seems to affect their league form massively.

We need something from these next two tough away fixtures before Maidstone, it’s a big ask.

Apart from Wrexham, Notts County and Chesterfield there isn't really a huge difference between the rest of the teams. Halifax are just 1 point behind Boreham Wood and we managed to beat them looking pretty solid.

Anyone wanting to watch on National League TV today will see it's not possible due to it being a 3pm....(most bizarre rule!)

However, if you're overseas, you can still watch it and pay £22 p/m.

There way around this, even if you're in the UK, is to use a VPN then switch your location to Canada for example. If you want to use one, I'm using this - shameless plug, if you sign up for this using my link I'll get a month free and so will you! https://ref.nordvpn.com/FygJyRZDvdF

When we have referees at Plainmoor they seem to drag them in from Essex or Yorkshire.
I see today's ref is a bit of a local - he's from Watford !

A picture posted at 1.55pm shows a lovely sunny day BUT a section of the pitch is in the shade and I guess remains frozen hence the Refs decision.

In League 2 9 games out of 12 off due to frozen pitches.

Here in Teignmouth we had a very severe overnight frost.

Really feel for all you guys who travelled in vain.

Pretty disgusting to let fans make a 200 mile journey and call it off at the last minute. It must have been pretty obvious at nine o clock this morning it wasn't going to happen.

Tinpot club - absolutely pathetic for a referee to get there so late when the game was obviuously in doubt. Its disgraceful actually.

Bloody disgrace to call it off this late. If the referee was from Watford he should have been there at 10 o/c this morning, sums up the NL and not enforcing this when there is any doubt.
Feel for all you guys that have got on the road early this morning, to support our cause.
