I'd have no problem with him having a hand in running the club but aside from helping the trust i cant see it happening to be honest.

Bateson would at least get Bill Phillips a place.........elsewhere ;-)

"We also feel we have achieved all we can at North Ferriby United and this, along with a desire to pursue our other interests, means the time is now right for us to step aside."

Possible?

I assume other interests to be outside of football. The Allam family have been involved in projects within Hull for 30 odd years, so I can't see them breaking away from this just to own a football club one division higher.

Maybe they will use Hull as a parent club and want a club in the sunny south west....

Torquay Tigers does have a ring to it, if the Premier League keep blocking them.

Yes, particularly if they like the use of alliteration.

Perhaps we could come up with some sort of legendary creature with the body of a tiger and head of a gull (or vice-versa), something that could attack and eat a grecian maybe ;-)

I love a good rumour!

I have heard Lubos Kubik is returning to pick up both the Managerial and the Chairman roles of the club as he feels he has unfinished business here. Reportedly we are set to be a feeder club to Kubik's first 'professional' team - FC Hradec Králové. As part of this partnership we will see many U21 players from their 'academy' blooded in the hustle and bustle which is the English non-league 'Premier' division. Kubik will once again re-unite himself with Richard Hancox in a bid to reignite a partnership which they hope will bring a similar style of play which we saw during their previous tenure at United.

His venture has been backed by the funding of his close friend Martina Navratilova who will be the major shareholder at the club. Navratilova will also be involved in the day to day training of the players in order to make sure fitness levels and volleying techniques are of the highest standards.

Plans are already in place to rename the ground from the Launa Windows to the Skoda Stadium and all players and staff will be presented with a company car which requires a very low rental finance package in return (the terms of their contracts dictate this is the only vehicle they will allowed to drive on matchdays).

The Kubik and Navratilova partnership also plan to replace current Commercial Manager (Dean Edwards) with Ivana Trump.

Interesting days ahead it would seem.

full disclosure; it's me. After living nearly 10 years in the US, I've decided to give back to the place from which I spawned and own the football club. Obviously, I'm not a millionaire but I'm confident that a close season tour of the US and Canada can help to increase our stateside support at least tenfold (to about 50 people), which will, in turn allow us to establish a coaching and recruitment presence in the US hotspots of Idaho and Nebraska.

I'm most likely going to be making a coaching change; Hargreaves is going to be reassigned to groundsman and I'm looking for a coach who has knowledge of both lower league football in the UK and some experience coaching in the States. Basically, it's Paul Buckle. While he's away taking the Yellows to such miserable places like Welling, Dartford and Bristol, his missus will naturally need some comfort, and I'm willing to make that sacrifice for the club.

Part of my marketing plan revolves around making the team more immediately appealing the denizens of Torbay, and having conducted extensive market research (well, I googled it) on what people in the area want I've decided to rename them Torquay Pop Idol X Factor Pictures of Kate Middleton's After Baby Body United. I think we can agree this will definitely increase interest.

Have to go now. Thea is knocking at my door and I don't want to keep the poor lady waiting.
