Would anybody be so kind as to give me some info on Southend away, parking , what it's like, can you walk to the seafront, is there anything in the vicinity such as supermarkets, bookies etc and any other bits of info based on your experiences there would be great. I'm considering going next week for the long trek down.
Cheers.
Cheers.
Strangely enough it was Pope Gregory the 9th inviting me for drinks aboard his steam yacht, the saucy sue currently wintering in montego bay with the England cricket team and the Balanese Goddess of plenty.

Torquay must not ever have played there then? Sorry for asking.

Thanks for your reply anyway Scott, most appreciated and as you haven't been then i never expected a response from you but thanks. I know we took a sh*tload of fans there when we went up under Leroy on the last day but perhaps many of you were high on euphoria and couldn't remember anything.
I know i'm being a mardy arse but Christ, all i'm asking is for a bit of help and info but it appears too much to ask. I thought Torquay fans were supposed to be helpful?
Not to worry, i'll get what info i can off the net and take it from there.

I was hoping that somebody would answer Andy, because I'm hoping to go there as well! I've got as far as setting it on my sat nav, but I haven't got a ticket yet.....

Parking isn't great - if you get there early enough there are quite a few side roads (including one called Electric Avenue that I particularly liked!) but these seemed to be fill up by around 2.15.
The ground is about as inland as you can get in Southend. Ok will not quite but it's a fair walk (40mins ish) from the seafront. If I remember right there are a few corner shops around, but nothing I can really remember in the way of pubs or bookies.
My recommendation is if you get there early enough is to go down to Leigh on Sea. It's the home of the cockle industry, and has a number of nice pubs and fish and chip shops down on the water front. It's also not as "chavvy" as Southend town centre. Then get to the ground nice and early!

Thanks for that Jeff, Leigh on sea sounds good, well, better than Accrington anyway!
