No thread for Buckle yet? Well ..

Post by Gazzableedsgull »

So .. He's available .. He knows most of the squad .. He produced the best side we had since the Leroy days .. Personally, on a short term basis I think we need him back!

I know what most of you feel about him (I felt the same!) but he'll bring loans in, he'll realise we have talent in the form of Benyon and Howe, although he'd probably play Nicho upfront .. We need a shake up! This would be it! Lots of press, lots of focus on a failing team and on a currently failing board (although absolutely grateful for their time and effort over the past couple of years) .. If he does come and keeps us up, this would be a great achievement considering our position!

This will divide opinion I know! But a forum is designed for debate! Judas he may be but the state of our football club is more important people?

I did have a weird feeling he'd resign at the end of the month, and posted this as a joke a few days ago (the Pop Side forum)!

Luton Town say he is leaving due to 'genuine personal circumstances'. Which could mean anything from a terminal illness in the family to him being exposed as an alien and is to be deported. More news is expected today.

So he's unlikely to come here, though personally I'd welcome him back, regardless of past history. In Martin Ling's absence the squad does need a shake up, and somebody like Buckle would be ideal. Why we have not played Benson, Craig and some of the other reserves and youngsters to give them a chance is beyond me. Whoever comes in to take charge must be ruthless with no room for sentimentality.

We must, must score goals, if we are to have a chance to win games, which means an attacking style of play with appropriate game tactics and team formation. I'd rather us go down fighting and lose our remaining games 2-3 or 3-4, than lose every one 0-1.

In all honesty, he's getting on a bit these days and I can't blame Taylor for not starting him.

Well I suspect Buckle is off to the USA with his lady, but I suppose the question is when?

There is a chance , I suppose, giving that there are just a few weeks left of the season that he could join Torquay and then follow his lady of to The USA at the final whistle.....probably thinking they are posh and becks mark 2 as they go!....and of course , if he fails, then he can run away and hide

Funnily enough, he's currently the bookies favourite for the Swindon job, but I can't see it myself. Purely a case of punters putting two and two together and getting five, I'd say.
