Ian Morris
Well I think we all agree (apart from Ling that is!) that craig and morris are neither wide men or wingers and so be treated as central midfield players. To be honest I think we should go back to 4-5-1 and let Craig and Morris fight it out for the Eunan role that we so badly miss this year. Macklin/Bodin/Thompson/Stevens can then battle is out for the wide forward positions with Jarvis and Yeoman on the bench to switch to 4-4-2 if plan A is not working.

That is pretty much how we are playing isn't it? At least on paper I think that is how Ling envisages it. Jarvis is playing the "Eunan role".Richinns wrote:Well I think we all agree (apart from Ling that is!) that craig and morris are neither wide men or wingers and so be treated as central midfield players. But you're right, we should be playing something similar to Chelsea (and no I'm not suggesting our players are anywhere near as good as these three) For Hazard, Mata and Oscar think Bodin, Morris/Craig and Macklin/Stevens.
Yeoman is a striker. Everyone at the club says what a top finisher he is. He just can't play a lone forward role. For Yeoman to be at his best he'd have to be a striker NEXT to someone like Rene Howe. In order to fit into our system I guess a winger is where he is best suited, but I definitely don't like seeing him play out there. He rarely tries to beat his man and plays the 'safe' option far too much.
When he's up front he'll have a bit more freedom and he'd be given the instruction to simply 'score goals'. I think he's very much a player where you have to simplify his task to get the best out of him. Sadly, you can rarely do that do a winger.

Maybe one day, Carayol will find London...

I note that Morro wasn't included in the reserve match so I guess he isn't ready for the more physical play yet. Hopefully he will be moving to the next stage soon.
Don't worry everyone, because Morris may be back in a month or two. Yes, that slow ineffective player that last year had half of Plainmoor on his back. Now that he has suffered a horrendous injury, is he going to be any better, or even worse?
