I think when the BBC reported that he was being recalled, it suggested it was because Bolton and Freedman wanted to have a proper look at him (can't find the link or remember the exact wording, but go on the bbc and have a read and see if you come to the same conclusion).

You are right though, probably clearest MOM I've seen in any of the games I've been to. I'd imagine that a host of clubs will be asking the question.
