Our League position on 1 January
Looking at our games over the next twenty-four days, we have six matches, beginning today (8 December) and ending on 1 January: Bradford (A), Northampton (H), Exeter (H), Plymouth (A), Aldershot (A), and Wimbledon (H).
In my opinion, we are capable of winning all these games and need fear nobody. Of course, maximum points are most unlikely, but you could say that of all the teams in this league.
We may not have played to our full potential so far this season, but the fact remains that we are currently on the verge of the play-off places, in practically the same position we were in a year ago, and are in a great position to push forward for a real promotion challenge. We no longer have the likes of Olejnik and O'Kane with us, but hey, it's a team game, and we now have other players making an impression. It's in the second half of a season that the serious contenders for promotion confirm their positions or force their way through to the top. We did it last year; we can do it again.
In fact, I'm going to stick my neck out and say that, with our full support, the team will be knocking on the door of the automatic promotion spots by the end of the year...!!
What d'you reckon...??

Of course, if we are to make any kind of progress, we must score a few more goals, but, as today's game showed, that's even more difficult when you're down to ten men, and there's not a great deal you can do about incompetent officials or cheating opponents. And a number of factors will determine the appropriate team formation in any particular game, and which in turn will affect our play: attacking, or more defensive. Overall though, yes I'm optimistic. We'll be there or thereabouts come the end of the season.

I would expect a decent points return from those fixtures, one slight concern for me is the overall standard of League 2 if you look at the strenght of our squad and some of our performances to date which at best have been dire the very thought that we could if the team gets the points return I think they might from these games, be sat in the play-off zone scares me some what.

I think we will beat Northampton and Wimbledon with tragedy of defeats in both the devon derbies and a bore draw at Aldershot so 7 points from those games for me.
Strangely enough it was Pope Gregory the 9th inviting me for drinks aboard his steam yacht, the saucy sue currently wintering in montego bay with the England cricket team and the Balanese Goddess of plenty.
Our League position in January will, I reckon, be as it is now : midtable
Our end of season position will, I reckon, be midtable.
After the reasonable success of the previous few seasons I can live with that.
Yeah, yeah, I know, Torquay don't do midtable.
