The one thing I detest about living around here is the number of overhead power cables and pylons that scar the countryside, so if Hampshire is anything to go by then we'd have the same problems as the Yanks.

Hmm. I remember the pylons, but I had it in my head that the electricity cable into the house was underground. Mine comes in above but it's an old house, I would presume you're correct for newer dwellings.
