Totally agree SNW, comes as part of the job, as long as the critisim is justified and constructive from paying fans.

It appears that the moaning has come as a result of an accumulation of inept perfromances and like SNW and Coley say the fans have a right to voice their displeasure within reason as they pay Martins wages and the players wages. Obviously if the same fans are kicking off every week then quite clearly they are arseholes but i can appreciate their frustrations having myself only seen 3 games this season. I'm sure or at least i would hope that Martin can see what the problems are and it will improve when we get Damon back but it is a little worrying that we continue to be ineffective even when the fans can see there is something not quite right. Maybe Martin is biding his time and trusting in his judgement and we just have to go with that and hope things improve. IMO they won't improve greatly as the tactics, formation and certain individual player performances are just not working at the moment. We'll be fine in terms of league position and safety and you could argue that as a Torquay fan then that is sufficient. We can't challenge for a promotion push as we simply don't score enough goals and aren't as defensively assured as last season. I remember some perfromances last season when we grinding out 1-0's when defensively we were immense and we controlled the midfield and often never looked like conceding. There was a sense of trust amongst the players and that built the confidence not to panic. This season we have looked like the Keystone Cops at the back at times and in midfield we have often been overrun. I'm happy at the start we have made in terms of points gained but i've not actually enjoyed watching ANY of the games i have seen. They have all been poor. Things have to improve and i think they will gradually but like i said, forget any hopes of a play off spot.

Don't you think the players would be more inclined to give of their best if the crowd was supporting them instead of criticising and whinging? It only takes a few disagreeable voices to be heard by the players and cause discouragement.

The manager is not stupid. He and his team will know what needs fixing and improving and we should trust in them to put things right. Around this time last year we went on an eight-game winless run, but all came right eventually and we went into the play-offs. Swindon had a poor start last season and look where they ended up. All teams, even promotion-winning ones, have spells of poor form, and suffer injuries and suspensions, but the last thing they need is supporters getting on their backs during a game.

Overnight football miracles don't happen. It takes hard work, practice, training, application and determination. And the patience and wholehearted backing of the supporters. So please have a little faith in Martin Ling and his team.

Those who whinge, moan and criticise the players during a game are not true supporters. If they don't want to support, they should stay silent. Or stay away. The team, the squad and the club will do better without them.

Totaly agree with gullscorer, supporters support! anything els is just gunna make things worse. away teams come with a plan to shut the home crowd up or even better get the home crowd on there own teams backs and these idiots are just helping the. Get behind the gulls or go home

Appreciate the sentiment of the first line of this, but it's not that simples.
I stand in front of the two biggest whingers in all of football. They don't bloody stop for 90 minutes, regardless of what's going on. Beat Shrewsbury 5-0, and we were poor and lucky that the opposition were worse. It has been known more than once for these two to watch the opposition kick off, pass the ball about 3 times, then moan 'we've been poor today, not had the ball yet, it's been all <teamname>'.
And no, they aren't joking, it's not ironic. Come about 20 minutes in, I want to strangle these old duffers, and it actually becomes quite distracting.
I imagine that, were I Dinger, I'd have trouble concentrating on the game if all I could hear was unjustifiable levels of moaning.
No, we weren't good against Burton, but we weren't so bad that it requires constant whinging.

Totally agree Matt, there are times and places to release the pent up frustration you get from watching consistently bad football which is what we have generally been served up this season. It is a natural reaction that even the most fervent of supporters would struggle to contain however when you've got morons moaning every game then it becomes tedious. I must stop it.

Maybe Martin can have a word with the construction blokes that are doing the training ground and get them to knock up a 'retreat dug out' somewhere else away from the bench where he can go and contemplate the game without the whingers in his ears!

We are all entitled to moan but some people are never happy, when leaving the pop side at the end of the burton game one bloke shouted f--k on lingy, i dont believe some people, we clearly have a manager who is on a tight budget and in my opinion doing a fantastic job, we are 8 games in, give the bloke a chance, he has done a good job so far and im sure we willl be up around the playoffs, these assholes need to get off his back or go and support someone else, support your team and your manager, TRUST IN DINGER!

This happens at most if not all clubs. We have exactly the same and we have about 7 less points than you and havent won all season so its probably justified although for both of us it is very early in the season. Of course its all about expectations and yours are growing particularly after last season. We had our expectations lowered by Mr Buckle but despite that the expectations are still there and so are the Moaners. Most Managers are made of hard stuff and as long as the total confidence of the majority of fans is not lost then there are no problems.

My mum went and sat in the bench for one game this season and I noticed she moved back to the family stand for the following game. I asked her why, because the view is so much better from the bench. Her answer was its full of moaners who just complain all game!

Mind you there is a few of them on the pop as well. One bloke near me started booing (yes booing!) when a goal kick went straight through to the opposition keeper. Okay thats never ideal, but booing? Plainmoor never ceases to amaze me.
