Wycombe lost Beavon to Preston late in the day. Nice to see our promotion rivals being weakened so late in the window.

Bloody hell Steve, I missed this. Stuart Beavon is a hell of a striker. I'll not forget in a hurry meeting Brian Palk in the car park at Lewes after the match. I told him that we needed to sign him to win the league and he told me "If we don't get him, it won't be for the want of trying". I was hugely excited, just a shame nothing came of it.

He is a top drawer striker, I'm delighted that he isn't in our division any more. It does raise an interesting question about the timing of the window in relation to the timing of the season. It hardly seems fair that some clubs have to play matches against teams with Player X, who then proceeds to leave a matter of days later.

Some of the moves have been madness, Chesterfield to Aston Villa in one fell swoop. There are, obviously, some freak players who make that step in one go, but can you imagine how good he'd have to be to manage that when the best Eunan could do was the middle of L1? Nick Powell was the exception for this year, clearly, ALF was the exception of a couple of years ago (although it took him a year of that to get into the Premier League), I'm not convinced that Bowery is this year's hero.

Matt.

Gone a long way from playing at Didcot Town. Remember seeing him and Jack King in the same Diddy team en route to winning the FA Vase. Now both at PNE.

Michael Owen is said to be weighing up his options. After much thought, it's now a straight choice between Loose Women & Homes Under the Hammer.

In all seriousness, am I the only one who thinks Owen could still score goals in the Prem? If (and it's a big if) he stays fit and gets into a starting XI, then I don't see any reason why he can't pop up with 10+ goals at least. He might not be that quick anymore but you never lose that 'fox in the box' mentality.

No, you're not the only one. I've been banging this drum on twitter for ages. That said. with his injury record it's a risk for teams to take, especially given that he apparently still wants top money. Also, he's pretty settled where he is so he's really limiting himself to teams in the north-west and maybe the midlands.

Good lad! There are some sane people around!! :)

Looks like he's heading to Stoke on a 2 year deal. Tbh, I am fairly surprised they've offered him a 2 year deal, such is his injury problems. But I hope this means he might actually become a starting XI player and get the chance to notch some goals. Might plop him in my dream team if the price is right!

Owen isn't bothered one bit about playing football IMO. Which is a shame because he is a talent and a threat just a shame that he prefers money over playing even though he's minted. Another greedy c*nt. He won't even score 5 goals for Stoke because he's just not interested in the game anymore.
Strangely enough it was Pope Gregory the 9th inviting me for drinks aboard his steam yacht, the saucy sue currently wintering in montego bay with the England cricket team and the Balanese Goddess of plenty.

I am prepared to bet you 5 english pounds that Owen scores at least 5 Premiership goals this season.

Go on then happy you're on. What sort of man would i be if i didn't put my money where my mouth is? A richer one! ;-)

Just to clarify though, i'm talking Premiership goals and not goals in the cups, well FA Cup given Stoke are already out the league cup.
