Torquay United signed matchball

Post by Rach »

I've got a Torquay United signed match-ball and i'm trying to figure out the signatures and need a little help, it's from the late 90's and has 'auto windscreens' on it if anyone can tell me who played for us then. The ones i can make out are:

wes saunders

ryan .....

mark....

quinn....

jonny?...

i might be completely wrong but thats what the names look like to me lol

there seems to be 15 signatures

Are you able to post up pictures? I have a couple signatures from that era that I could match them with.

From the Wes (as Manager) era (1998-2001) I would imagine that the "Ryan" is our former reserve keeper - Northmore. The "Mark" could be a young winger by the name of Platts or possibly Jermyn? While "Jonny" could be Worthington? No idea about Quinn though!

The Ryan could also be Ryan Ashington, who was jus breaking into the first team in that era (I went to school with him, hence why his name popped into my head)

Do the signatures have numbers next to them? Players these days put their squad numbers next their signatures to make this sort of nonsense easier.

I too have a ball, which I paid an unfeasibly large sum for at a charity auction, not worked out the signatures yet, might post a pic if yours are any good.
