I think there was some worry that he was getting good friends with Macklin and therefore learning how to approach football as a grown up man with plenty of level headedness that only Macklin could show you!

Signs for Salisbury.
Good luck to the lad, should do very well in the BSS.

Bet Salisbury fans a well happy with that. Quality at that level and a stepping stone in his coaching career.

Salisbury City were really harshly treated in 2010, hope McPhee helps them to get back to where they were.
Pleased for Chris. Local enough for him and potential there to be a good little club. They had done well to establish themselves in the BSP and were harshly dealt with. Hopefully Chris can help push them on back to where they belong.

Really hope he does well, there is no doubting his commitment but unfortunately, the quality just wasn't there for league football. I have no doubt he'll be a very good player for Salisbury though. Does this mean he'll have to go part time?
Luke.

That sort of sums it up really - Salisbury are a bloody awful side and they have got a bloody awful player. Good luck to him but honestly, he cannot play football. Lets face it Macklin was on loan to them last season and could not even get in their team. I think that is telling us something.
I actually got to see Salisbury in the FA Cup last season and they weren't a bad side at all.brucie wrote:That sort of sums it up really - Salisbury are a bloody awful side and they have got a bloody awful player. And also, not only was Macklin a regular in their side but he scored in the FA Cup against Sheffield Utd and put in such a performance that Blades fans were lauding him on their forum.
But then what do forum posters know about player performances anyway........
Yes - he must have been a regular because when he scored that goal he came off the bench - get your facts right.

Great use of irony......
He has got his facts right. Macklin hardly played when at Salisbury, something ling mentioned at the time, and was discussed on this forum.Jeff wrote: "get your facts right"

3 sub appearances in the cup, no league apps at all, one goal in FA cup.
Just because you don't like brucie's style doesn't mean that everything he says is wrong.
Soccerbase doesn't record any appearances below BSP level. The three FA cup appearances were against Grimsby (twice) and Sheff Utd - the only appearances Macklin made in competitions recorded via soccerbase.Kit_robin wrote: He has got his facts right. If you want any proof of that, have a look at the Gillingham squad, click on Ross Flitneys profile. According to soccerbase he made zero league appearances for Dover in 2010/11. I know for a fact this is wrong as I was there for one, and I know for a fact that he was almost ever present for Dover that year.
Just because soccerbase doesn't say he made any appearances doesn't make it "fact". Just a 5 minute search of the surprisingly crap match reports section of the SCFC website throws his name up in a league match against maidenhead.
