Jerry, you are right. I had completely forgotten that he came from Bolton. Ellis is definitely on the list then.
Jonny, Defoe had a big reputation when he went to Bournemouth and did well, but there are easily 5 or 6 players who aren't much to write home about for every Defoe. Jamie Ward is another to add to the list but David Graham was in his 20s by the time he came here and was in or around the first team from the very outset. I think for him it was more a case of right place, right time. Hence why he's been rubbish since then and is basically playing pub football now.

For every David Graham, Eunan and Ellis, there is a Mick O'Brien or Mark Platts............

I think Tom Cruise could be a real gem. You don't play in the champions league for Arsenal if you are not going to be a good player.

Whatever happened to their careers, I actually quite liked the both of them.
Mick O'Brien is now back at Everton as an academy coach, http://www.evertonfc.com/academy/29590/ ... tml?page=3
We've now released him. Cheers Macca! Good luck for the future.
Link here as to what brooker has already said.

All the best to him - he and Torquay never seemed to fit but by all accounts he is a clever bloke and has a bright coaching career ahead of him.

A bit surprised that the club haven't gone down the road of settling up his contract in order for him to find a permanent (and most likely less well paid) position elsewhere .....

The best scenario all round, hopefully this might free up space for another striker?
Hope this is the case - time will tell!CP Gull wrote: ...like I was saying ...![]()

Chris McPhee has left the club with immediate affect by mutual consent.
Good news to be fair, for some reason it just never works for McPhee in a yellow shirt. Good luck to him.
As McPhee came to us with a decent reputation I imagine he was on acceptable money. Hopefully we can use this to bring in another forward. Perhaps something of a gamble on someone young, recovering from injury or perhaps from overseas.
Now hopefully we can get shot of Macklin too

I'll always remember his..........ummmmmmm actually won't remember anything about him. Good luck to him anyway, not his fault players in his position all played really well last year.

You can say what you like about him and we all knew his limitations, but he never gave anything less than 100% when called upon. Must have been frustrating for him but his attitude and work rate obviously impressed the manager far more than some of our other reserves, shall we say.
Good luck Chris, thanks for your efforts and I hope you succeed at your next club.

I can all-too-easily remember the time he scored the winner against us in the FA Trophy final for Ebbsfleet.monkeyboy wrote:I'll always remember his..........ummmmmmm actually won't remember anything about him. Yep, good luck to the guy. Like Smiffs says, it takes some balls to go back to a club where you didn't make the best impression before. Hope he does well in the future.
I wonder if Lingy is planning to replace him with another attacking option though..
