Not sure how much of a progressive move it would be for us but i'd have him back at Plainmoor in a flash. An absolute TUFC legend for me and despite his limited ability he did amazing things for us and he can always be relied on to give 100% and motivate the others.

What a sad indictment on the club if they sold Ellis on the cheap and replaced him with a has been. And that is not to take anything away from the influence he had a few years ago. Then he was the right man in the right place at the right time. But that was then, and this is now.

If we are talking about Branno being a direct replacment for Ellis, then I fully agree with you Yellow, if we are talking about Branno coming as player ccoach, however more as centre back no3/with more involment on the coaching side of things, then surely this would be a fantastic move for the club to make.

The club should be looking to the future, not the past. But if we're thinking of Branno as a coach rather than as a player, then the question we should be asking is, not how good a player is he, but how good a coach is he?

How good a coach Branno, I can tell you first hand, as I have seen him do á number coaching sessions with our u-18's the season before, that Branno is a first class coach, he puts the same drive, passion, and never say die attitude into his coaching that he allways did as a player, and I am sure he has his first set of badges as well.

Having Branno about the place, coaching, their ready to step if we picked up an injury, possible next manager of the club aswell, as said, would be fantastic move for our club, under those terms, not as a first choice however, that I agree on.

I think Branston could still do a good job at Torquay and I don't think we should jump to conclusions that he's a 'has been' and he will only be good as a coach. It was only two years since he made a terrific effort here and since then he hasn't settled, having a bad spell at Bradford and being loaned out to Rotherham. Going by what I have heard, he wants to retire after one season at Torquay. He met his partner in Torquay, he enjoyed his time at Torquay and he might settle down with his Mrs in Torquay and respectively end his career at TUFC. From all that I'm sure he would be up for playing in a yellow shirt again! If you still think that he's past it, I respect your opinion and understand why you may think this but I don't think we should make a judgement before he's played competitive games.

If Guy plays for one season, that gives Lingy a year to find a permanent replacement for Ellis while having an experienced CB in temporary replacement. Lingy may try and sign or loan McDonald back as well to boost up the Centre back positions, time will tell and I'm staying optimistic.

Im sure Guy would like to come back as he probably feels he missed out here. However much i would love him to come back i think its better to stay no. I also cant see him coming back here in any coaching role, our assistant manager is more than qualified to do that and dont need anyone else. We also have Mansell and Nicholson doing there badges and can imagine in future they will be part of some coaching team here.

With Ellis on his way out we need two centre halves. Macdonald seems to be highly regarded by the management so would expect him to join on loan for the ear, especially now Reading are in the prem. However i would think Ling would look for an experienced player to play alongside Saah, just dont think it will be Branno.

I thought MacDonald had been ruled out as he wanted to be playing first team football. I can't see him wanting to come back to play reserve games for us when he can play reserve games for Reading against better opposition. Who would?

We've lost so many fans favourites over the years, and I would welcome Branno back tomorrow. Excellent attitude, and as we've heard above up n coming coach too.

I have a bit of a man-crush on Branston so I would definitely like to see him return.

I of course would love to see Branno back here, I like must love him to bits, and think he is everything a footballer should be, rather than the footballers that are growing up now.

But as said if we want to be progressive, then Branno as a first choice centre back not for me, I have no doubt Branno will tell us he has still got it, and has something to give over 46 games, I don't agree as a fan, Martin Ling's opinion is the one that counts though.

Bradford could have kept him, Rotherham could have signed him, niether did, says it all for me, on the subject of him coming here as a coach, is it really that far fetched ? I am sure I read towards the end of last season Martin Ling say he had not given up on the the idea of having a player coach.

If so then Branno is perfect for that role, have him as centre back no3 , there ready to cover injuries, suspensions, or to rest a player, and use him as coach, Taylor is well quailfied not doubting that, their is only so much 2 men can do, three minds are better than two.

Well it looks even more likely now as he has reached an agreement with Bradford to end his contract early. I would suggest that he wouldn't' have done that if he didn't have a new contract with another club already lined up. Usually in these situations, the player settles up his contract with his existing club and is then announced as having signed for his new club within a day or two, so I would expect an announcement fairly soon....

Blimey the way people are talking you'd have thought he was 40, he's only 33, got 3/4 years in him still easy. Not as though he's going to lose his pace is it?

He should never have left TUFC in the first place, he was settled and playing the best football of his career since his early Rotherham days.
