Pitch Protection At Plainmoor
Pitch Protection At Plainmoor
What steps are taken by TUFC to protect the pitch from frost? Weather forecast not good for the next few days before the Torquay v. Walsall game on Saturday.
I could always try and 'borrow' some of the frost covers currently on Hereford racecourse, but the postage would be a nightmare and I'm in no way fit enough to jump my garden fence to get them
I can not see any issue with this match being called off, there are no weather warnings in place for either friday or saturday in the torbay area.
however the club does have pitch covers a tractor and spiking machine,so all will be ok.

Thanks for that, Forevertufc.
On about -2 to -4 up here tonight. Brrrrrrr!
Walsall have 'over soil' heating. A series of coke braziers placed on the pitch. Looks comical but usually works when frost forecast pre-match. Good to hear milder climates in Torbay.
