Haha. jobs that you feral Brits won't get out of bed for anyway, houses that i most certainly would be able to live in if i WERE foreign - in fact i'm British so that rules me out of securing any social housing for the rest of my life unless i shack up with some drug addled chavette who has 9 kids AND i do give something back, i support the mighty Gulls and most of my spare cash either goes to Ladbrokes or TUFC! So nerrrr! And as for the low points expectations, you get used to just praying for a goal never mind a win if you are a follower of the Austrian national football team and maybe it has rubbed off on Torquay. Either that or it was because i knew we'd have no chance of scoring with Tai upfront. He has proved me wrong however. :scarf: Go and practise your xenophobic diatribes on some other nation, what about Gulliball? He loves Slovakia! How mad is that?!!
Ah Methinks your refering to our much loved up Mat again. lol

I can see why you'd expect only 4/9, Swindon are a good side, possibly the best we've seen, but we can beat Oxford, it's that type of division, anyone can beat anyone. That aside, I think, pound for pound, we're probably better anyway, although that is based on a not very deep knowledge of the Oxford squad.

Matt.
Funny you say that. Once I saw we were without Rene, I predicted that we'd lose every game over Christmas, so I've been in the mindset that any points are a bonus. I was shocked on Monday, can't see us repeating the feat but if we can get 2/3 points from these I'll be happy.

So often in recent years I have gone into the christmas games with high expectations only to be disappointed.
This year given the oppostition and the team circumstances with suspensions etc I was expecting only 3-4 points.
All of of a sudden the "Ling factor" has kicked in, this could be the first christmas I can recall where we could actually get all 9 points (still a huge ask)
Mansell will be fired up for this, BB back again, CM warming the pines but ready to come on and get the job done...
This will be a close run affair I am sure but I have a good feeling now

2-1 (Atieno, McPhee)
At the kerb halt - look right - look left -look right again - if all clear quick march!

McPhee's a brave shout, prepare to be ambushed. :)

I hear on the local Jack FM and the Big banana boys (Oxford fans) that Chris Hargeaves will be co-commentating for Jack FM at Plainmoor on Saturday. Chris Wilder is upbeat and expecting to gain points at Torquay especially after their win at Wimbledon last time out. They are getting back into some form now so I have already precicted a share of the spoils on New years Eve. I am going to drop them a line just to let them know that there are a few gulls in the Oxford area. Thats me and Chippy Gull and, maybe, some more as well. I even considered travelling down on one of their supporters coaches but have to be back in Bicester for 4 o'clock to sort out Nerw Years Eve celebrations so will have to listen to the radio instead. At leasts Jack FM will have it live!! It will be good to hear them in downbeat post mortem mode after the game

Here's hoping for another 3 points!!! (despite predicting a 2 all draw).

Hey Oxgull, is that 20ft shark still sticking out of the roof of that terrace house near the old Manor Ground ?

I parked in that street when I watched an Argyle game at the old Manor and thought . . . . what the f*** !

There were a few seats left in the family stand when i picked mine up this morning (by a few it looked like single figures from the seat plan they've got in reception)

another very tough game, hopefully we'll fire at them from the off like we did against swindon, but this time will be more than one goal up by ht!

i'd like to predict a 3-1 win, stevens to score first, but in reality i would be happy with a draw before kick off, so i'll say 1-1 mansell! 3672 there, 752 from oxford
still keeping the faith
