United have now played 28 League games in Season 2022/23, 14 Home and 14 Away. 6 Wins 8 Draws and 14 Defeats. 6 of those defeats were 1 nil.
Our Home form is really poor just 3 wins, 6 draws and 5 defeats. 15 points out of 42.
Our away form is 3 wins 2 draws and 9 defeats 5 of which were 1 nil.11 points out of 42.
The clear reason we are at the wrong end of the Table goes back to our Home Form between 29 August and 12 November when in 5 of the 6 Home games we shipped an unbelievable 22 goals including 5 v Chesterfield and 4 v Altrincham.
Form is a key factor which does give encouragement. In the last 8 League Games we have won 3 drawn 3 and lost 2 both away. Goals for 8 and goals against also 8. Our defence is much tighter and giving Mark Halstead more protection. Only Asa and Dan Martin are injured but not sure about McGavin.
As we start our Final 18 games with a visit by Notts County to Plainmoor on Saturday our target is 50 points. 1.333 per game. 6 wins, 6 draws and 6 defeats would give us a decent chance to stay up.
It is up to us the true Fans of TUFC to get behind the players and by that we let them know that we are with them every step of the way. COYY.
Torquay United Season to Date.

I would contend that the reason for the club's dire position is the abysmal recruitment for the second season in a row.
While accepting that money and location are probably issues against recruiting quality individuals a majority of those signed permanently or on loan wouldn't even stand out in Sunday league football.
I'll be pilloried again, but will repeat that Peter Johnson is to talent spotting what the Taliban is to female emancipation.

Step 1 - Recruit players from academies
Step 2 - Highlight that academy players arent used to competitive senior football
Step 3 - Recruit players from academies
On a serious note Nico Lawrence has impressed and to think he was playing for Glebe FC until relatively recently. Maybe there's a lesson to be learned in looking for talent in the lower leagues rarher than academies.
