8 Games in 26 days!!

Post by portugull »

With a small squad we are going to be extremely hard pressed to cope playing 2 games a week for 4 weeks.

We started on Tuesday at Hampton & Richmond and now play as follows:

Sat 22 Altrincham KO 17.20

Tues 25 Eastleigh Away. 19.45

Sat 29 Notts County Away 3pm

Tues 1st Nov Aldershot Home 19.45

Sunday 6 Nov Derby County Home 3pm

Tues 8th Nov Dorking Home 19.45

Sat 12 Nov Chesterfield Away 3pm

I think Gary would be wise to recall Moyse at the very least. This is a very demanding schedule.

If we've got any sense we will get the Dorking game on the 8th pushed back to Wednesday.

Not sure we can cope with this frail injury prone squad ? I hear we are soon to be on the BBC as well..... in a new series called Football Hospital !

Chesterfield’s at home, we have 5 out of 6 games in November at home so we desperately need to find some form.

Sorry DevonBee yes Chesterfield on 12th Nov is at Home.

Club have moved Dorking game from 8th Nov to 9th Nov as suggested by desperado.

So unusual to be attending Plainmoor 5 times in next 3 weeks.

Admiral, I do pray your right when you hope for some new faces by saturday but I will not hold my breath.
Johnson has hinted he may get someone in, singular, but hints they have to be the right type of player and fit for the squad as if we are to believe he has made such a brilliant job in acquiring a load of children that still have not mastered the basics of pro football, the last thing we need is another untried juvenile who needs weeks to be taught the basics. What we actually need is some scarred old pro who doesnt like to run so is excellent at reading the game, will stop a juggernaut in their tracks and can make a pass without opening their eyes.

How many loan players are we allowed to sign? Definitely need some reinforcements!

Quite agree with culmstockgull a scarred old pro preferably a centre half to add some steel, stability and confidence to our weak hesitant
defence. Am i dreaming again ????

Yes a sort of Guy Branston type or Gary Warren who was excellent for us though he was rather injury prone.
A similar type in midfield too as Hall never seems fit to play many games.
They must be out there, but it needs money to get them here , over to you George/Clarke.
