Message to the Commo Team

Post by davethegull2 »

Guys, in the main you're doing a great job, thank you. BUT, you are driving me INSANE. When we score it takes 30 seconds to work out we have because you don't react with any excitement or passion. For all 3 goals against Eastleigh and countless times before there was no reaction whatsoever. I feel sorry for your Mrs if you show the same level of passion to her. Shout, scream, let us know it's in the back of the net, we've scored.......anything! And I bet your Mrs says the same!

I echo my thanks, it’s been particularly great being able to listen in this year but I do agree with the points raised!

There have been countless times I’ve had to really listen in to establish we have scored if I’ve been multitasking - the excitement will help distinguish that it’s a goal for Torquay too because if I’m really busy and hear a goal the lack of enthusiasm makes it hard to tell!

Not easy to change a commentating style without it sounding kinda fake.
My observation is that quite often what we viewers see as exciting moments get lost because the guys seem to be either not relating to what’s happening on screen or just can’t express excitement. Randell did one wonderful cross field pass that split the Eastleigh midfield. I gasped at its quality. Ray and Dave didn’t make a comment. Not sure why....not watching, not seeing....making notes....
Gawd knows!

I find Dave Thomas too negative. He reminds me of Jim Watt commentating on boxing.

Ray and Dave. Thanks for that, it was much better. At last, we knew we had scored at the time it went in rather than vague guesswork 30 seconds later or as it's updated on Flash. Keep up the good work and I hope you have to shout yourselves hoarse many times over the last 4 games.
