BBC Spotlight

Post by portugull »

Following the latest gaffe on Friday evening when Andy Birkett said TUFC did not have a game and "could put their feet up" I wrote an email to BBC Spotlight .

To be honest I did not expect a reply. However to his credit I received a reply on Sunday Evening. He apologised for his slip up.

He also said "I'm afraid the F A Trophy just wasn't on my radar and with the Club no longer sending out a weekly press release this season it didn't get flagged. This isn't meant as an excuse,as I should have double checked"

At least the guy apologised and took the trouble to respond.

Why isn't the club sending out a weekly press release this season. Surely it's something that can be done from home. The hardcore of fans are ok as they will keep up to date, it's the occasional fans that need this to keep them from drifting away.

I sent an acknowledgement to Andy Birkett and he is going to give United a mention on tonight's programme at 6.30pm.

Yes great - he's a professional sports reporter, theres three professional football teams in Devon. If he can't ascertain that one is playing on a Saturday it beggars belief really. Pathetic.
