all for sportsmanship but arrogance no
last week on their posts, they were
1, thought we were mad thinking of the title
2, genuinely thought they deserved it, because they had been top since october
well
only one thing counts
who ever is top after 46 games deserves to be champs
go get them boys....!!!!

We always see the same thing from Exeter fans, sportsmanship? No. Arrogance? YES.
It's a long season, plenty of sides haves choked at the death before and plenty more will do so in the future.

We need the bloody win anyway or , to paraphrase Bob Dylan "We Ain't Goin' Nowhere!"
Fate: A police dog called Bryn bit Torquay player Jim McNichol and the time while he was receiving treatment was added onto the end of the second half.
Cannot help and intrude when people make comments like this. The players, the management, the staff can hardly do anything to control the actions of few people out of 9000 fans, so think before you speak about 'doing a favour for football.'Richinns wrote:nickshaker - after Chesterfields fans behaviour on Monday I hope we do football a favour on Fri night. To be fair I believe we have thrown this title away and it is now bury's to throw away despite us still being 2 points in front so well done for pegging us back but that doesnt mean I think you have been the best side in this league, that honour goes to us.
Should be a good game on friday between two good sides so may the best side win. And as for bury, see you in league one next season no matter who is champions and good luck when the curse that is Iain Dowie takes over and ruins whatever stability you have.
Someone's grumpy this morning =D
not grumpy just merely stating factsHRG wrote:Someone's grumpy this morning =D

Did not put your club in a positive light though did it. I agree with the 0.1% which does not represent you as a club though. Hope they get what they deserve.
I will retract - my statement was not fair to true CTFC fans and was just an off the cuff reaction to this thread. I still hope we stuff you though so we have the chance of playing yourselves and Bury next year!

To be fair, we also have a few total d**kheads amongst our "fans" (most recently the Scotty R issue). I believe the Spires took prompt action to ban those involved, plus 1 has been arrested. The only question that needs asking is, WTF were the stewards doing? Have they recruited the dorks from the Gargs? Whoever is responsible for them needs sacking as they clearly cant organise a piss up in a brewery!!!
It didnt put the club in a positive light, no. But we arent the only club. For instance, port vale and rotherham fans have destroyed advertising hoardings when at the b2net this season.Richinns wrote:

Fair play but i very much doubt you will stuff us, we have only lost 8 games all season and havent lost back to back.
I doubt we will stuff you either but we are currently playing the best we have all season and in all honesty - with a little more luck and a little more experience - then we would be up there with you and Bury. We really do deserve a playoff place for our efforts this year.
Will be a good game between two good teams.

Our team look tired at the moment and the lack of strength in depth is worrying from our point of view. I agree you deserve a play off place and I am sure you will achieve that. I'm going to go 2-2 against you guys on friday, I wouldnt mind take a point back to the b2net.Richinns wrote:I doubt we will stuff you either but we are currently playing the best we have all season and in all honesty - with a little more luck and a little more experience - then we would be up there with you and Bury. i have nothing against bury or chesterfield. i have not visited either ground, but was at the home fixtures against both last season, and as i have a bit of a trek to get to a home game myself, i often stay over in a hotel, so usually run into away fans doing the same, and i have to say both chesterfield and bury fans were pretty cool before and after the games, and we had a beer together.
my lad was TUFC mascot last season against Bury, and he said the Bury players all shook his hand etc before the game, so from that perspective, we've obviously got a soft spot for bury, as he had a great day.
as for the events involving the bury keeper, any genuine football supporter would agree it was absolutely disgusting, and i'm sure no one would agree more than the 99.9% of chesterfield supporters who are no doubt embarrassed by it. all football clubs have a handful of kn*bheads who call themselves fans, it's how the club deal with them on occasions like this, and no one can knock chesterfield's handling of the situation, and prompt action.
however, i only care about torquay, and i feel we need to win our two remaining games to get in the play offs, so if we beat chesterfield on friday and inadvertently hand the title to bury, so be it. i think chesterfield have been excellent all season, but it's not over yet, and the excellent rochdale blew the title last year due to last minute jitters (which seemed to start with a 5-0 defeat at plainmoor =D ), so it happens. you're both in Div1 next year, and good luck to you - i hope we join you.
