Although Brett didn't travel to Boreham Wood last Saturday, Johnson says today on DevonLive that "he may well get on the pitch over Christmas and New Year" (and Samir Nabi).

We may find that Brett has a big say over the Xmas and New Year period. We only need to be a striker down and his goals / work could be critical in obtaining three points somewhere.

As much as I like Brett SNW, he has had his chances this season and how did he miss his chance away at Wealdstone beggars belief, Ironically he moves up a league for a month. Johnson will have something in his pocket that’s for sure

Brett going to Sutton opens the door for Olaf to be on the bench more now Keating is suspended?

Not surprised given his lack of game time, but a little concerned due to our lack of numbers over the busy Xmas period? Makes me wonder whether GJ will be bringing someone in to fill the gap? Given that Keating is out (suspended) for 3 games, Edwards (thigh) is still out injured for a week or two, and Dickson (achilles) will be missing for the foreseeable future - we are really stretched as far as forward players are concerned.

The team pretty much picks itself for Saturday .... MacDonald; Wynter, Niate, Sendles-White, Davis; Kalala, Hall, Lemonheigh-Evans, Andrews; Reid, Janneh Subs: Burton, Essuman, Nabi, Koszela, Baxter(?)

But, given that Koszela and Baxter are only 16 year olds, we are as far as I can figure out left with only 13 fit full time professionals + Burton (non contract), and two Academy youngsters (Koszela and Baxter). We will have Cameron back after Saturday to "boost" numbers but we are still dangerously short.

With Bass (recalled from loan), Cameron (suspended - 1 game), Sokolik (long term injured), Banton (on loan to Dulwich Hamlet), Keating (suspended - 3 games), Edwards (Injured), Dickson (injured), Pittman (season loan - Truro), Williams (on loan to Sutton) ….. we are now operating on a threadbare squad!

I wonder whether, with Bass returning to Portsmouth freeing up a loan "spot" ~ we are allowed a maximum of five in a match day squad ~ GJ might look to loan in a striker? I believe Freddie Hinds (at Bristol City) is "free" - would be nice!!! Probably too good for our level in all honesty …. but we could really do with someone!!! Only needs us to pick up further injuries and/or suspensions and we could even struggle to put a team out!

And here he is …. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s-dDLoOtaxs

A "week or two away" according to Dave Thomas on today's HE podcast - and not under consideration for this weekend's game. Which has presumably come direct from GJs Thursday morning press conference!

It makes you wonder if we have got someone coming in already for Brett. Else I don’t think he’d let him go. Especially with our suspensions and injuries

Freddie Hinds has left Wrexham and gone back to Bristol City as he hasn't featured for them. He is a player that needs some game time desperately and has previously played with Johnson at Chletenham.

A striker, but has not played much senior football or scored many goals at that level. Not sure about academy appearances, under 21 etc. If he is a talent, then we will get him in, no doubt. :scarf:
