A lot of this nonsense about what a real supporter is has come about in recent times due to the increased commercialism of the game. It's about big business trying to create a stereotypical fan and then using that template to exploit and encourage people to part with their cash. Like all stereotypes it never actually truly fits any one particular individual.
Take for instance the "match day experience" . This is an attempt to manufacture an experience from which money can be made. Such as the club meat pie which has become something of a fetish amongst some fans. I have never purchased food inside a football ground anywhere that I would feed to a dog let alone eat myself unless absolutely starving.
I know clubs need alternative revenue streams but I can't help feeling there is a huge rip off element involved.
My own match day experience evolved organically if you like over time, were now it consists of a visit to the bookies before the match followed by a couple of beers before and after the game. The £15 I hand over to the club I is quite sufficient for my contribution to said club i feel.
All this bullshit about supporting one club only and about lower/non league football being better/more genuine is nothing more than inverted snobbery.

It's called trying to have a debate with someone without acting like a 5 year old. I really appreciate P78's input and opinions about this.

I'm 100% with you on the 'pie fetish' P78. Footy catering is a bugbear of mine now. The shit that some people put in their bodies is criminal but if you're at the footy you have three choices. Eat shit, unless you're at Forest Green, take your own food or just don't eat.

Returning to the topic i.e Darren Moore. It was a real eye opener listening to the post-match interview with him. Those of us who watched him as a youngster here will remember the various injury problems he had, he stuck at it and became a very valuable member of the team who went on to greater things.
In the interview, he said how although the team had been through a really bad season they all stuck together, the team, the staff and above, all the supporters. The players also spoke extremely highly of him. Such a tragedy that such values no longer exist at the club where Darren started off. I'm sure all who remember him wish him all the very best for his future, one of the really good guys.

Good God I nearly feel guilty for supporting 2 teams.
I watch the majority of Torquay home games and the odd away game each season.
I watch Man City live once or twice a season and all their games on Sky.
No conflict as far as I'm concerned just equal loyalty.
