For me it shows GI were never that interested in the football side of the club but rather just the land a deal would have presented for their commercial projects which the council planning department would appear to be not to impressed. Not sure if were better or worse off now.

I suspect your reading of the situation is correct. On the TFF forum, there have been some rather odd postings from one individual which I had mostly dismissed as rubbish. A couple of days ago, he posted that 'the AGM would be a joke, that we would be given next to no information (in spite of a promise that an announcement would be made at the AGM) and that the discussion period with Gaming International would be extended by a further month'. He is right on all counts. He had also posted that the club is in dire trouble. I shall take more notice of what he posts in future !

Let's suppose GI have lent the club a shedload of money (I wouldn't know how much but that is what is being suggested on the forums). GI then decide to pull out of the takeover and consequently demand their money back. The club can't afford it so GI take the club to court to have it wound up. Plainmoor therefore has no sitting tenant and GI or some other developer can move in and persuade the council to sell up. If this scenario came to pass then the responsibility will lie solely at the feet of the current board. Thea Bristow wrote off £3 million of her own money to try to give the club a future and all that has happened is that the club is being placed in peril by the impotence of the current owners. If the club is going to be lumbered with an unpayable debt there is no point talking about a plan B, unless that means TUST trying to secure the leasehold on Plainmoor and launching a phoenix club.

Unless there is a white knight waiting in the wings, I would have to support the GI deal as the lesser of two evils as I fear the club cannot survive under its current model. We could be heading into administration and a 10 point reduction. At that point there is no legal requirement for an administrator to take any notice of supporters' wishes so we could be dissolved, even under fans protests. Doom and gloom I know, but one does have to take reality checks now and again.

I have been saying all along that this whole thing stinks. If and its a big if the current board are that stupid to take outxa loan on the basis that planning permission is given for a new development then they are mad. Now it could be that the current board are in some financial mess, who knows. We know we have at least 200k, because we bloody well paid it. If thats all the club has well thats what we have to survive on. GI has no interest in a football club, its about making as much money as possible out of each one of us! Because in the end the club is us, the fans and nothing else.

More than likely the council would just let a Phoenix club play in the stadium if they could afford to run a couple of the stands, even if GI ran it out of business and then attempted to get the land.They don't want to be seen as killing sports in the Bay when it's one of the things they've been wanting to push with the Velodrome etc. So we don't need to go planning Phoenix clubs just yet.

Whether the apathetic public of Torbay would be organised and interested enough to create a successful Phoenix club is a whole different matter.

I hope you are RIGHT. On the basis of Gaming International's previous dealings as comprehensively outlined by Dawlish Warren, I am convinced TUFC will be shafted by Clarke Osborne and his unscrupulous (allegedly) business partners just as Hereford Utd were. We are told there is now a Plan B so let's go for it. It can't be any worse than what's on the table at present.

Im not worried if it falls through. better to say goodbye to this lot than be shafted down the road and lose our Club. we survived last season and Kev pulled off a miracle. he has more time to do the impossible this season. If we do better hopefully there will be better crowds and we need not worry about a shortfall of money, or maybe only a small shortfall
