Signing players in form with experience of the league you say? Of course! It is so simple now!

The clubs with the biggest budgets in this league struggle to do this so what hope have we got in both our league and financial position?!

This is exactly the thing I mean in my opening post when I said:
“It is very easy to say things on a keyboard and it is very easy to provide solutions to problems which in the real world cannot be fixed by somebodies ‘idealism’ sat in front of a computer screen.”

Well then the board shouldn't promise significant strengthening if they can't provide it. Furthermore they should not be allowing our catastrophe of a manager to release squad players because they've got a hump about playing time. They also should not be allowing him to sell vital players just because they put in transfer request. Anyone who thinks Marsh would have gone on strike and potentially destroyed his prospects of a contract with Dover in the summer or whoever else may have offered him a deal is very very wrong. This is not the EPL where players can pull that crap, conference players live almost hand to mouth and don't get paid over the summer unless they're under contract.

Another 'my opinion is fact' poster!

Yawn.

Fisher, Shepherd, Heslop, Fairhurst, Spiess - why exactly would you now be using these players as a stick to beat the club with?

They have been a very big part as to why we find ourselves in this mess so their release can hardly be seen as us letting go the answer to the problem can it!

Even Marsh and fought with his own player getting a suspension and Hurst was so rotten it was almost cancer! We were at the bottom with these players.

Seriously. Think about it!

No arguments over that but were replacing them with players of inferior quality or in some cases don't even look like replacing them. That is the issue. If anyone thinks a youth player on loan with all of about 8 appearances or a once decent striker on his way down and unable to score consistently a league below are like for like replacements then they're mad.

Again it is your opinion!

Wright has been a very decent addition. How much experience did he have?

They wouldn't need to work in South Devon though would they?

Apparently Exeter is booming, they can all get jobs at the Met Office (I reckon Tomasz Schafernaker could be pretty useful up front).

Anyway, surely there are plenty of decent footballers who stack shelves for a living? We've got just as many supermarkets as anywhere else.

Blimey. I know how much these guys know. The next paragraph or so is going to be rip roaring stuff if this is true. Might I be talking to the Chairman?

Ok ok ok, he can redeem himself here. If he gives some genuine insight into the world of football and doesn't just trot out a list of basically every category of footballer, short of asking for the experienced, high quality, high value players that any damn fool knows we can't attract for a variety of well documented reasons.

Ah, back to square one. Still, at least he hasn't made the ultimate mistake...

It might be true that Kevin Nicholson doesn't seem to have many contacts but what about Robbie Herrera?-I understand his friendship with Gary Brazil,Notts Forest Academy Manager, with whom he played at Fulham, played a big part in us being able to get Jason Rees(despite competition from others.) Robbie had a good career at a decent level and will have other useful contacts I'm sure;as will Kevin Miller.

Nico doesn't need contacts. He needs one man with more contacts and more reach in the game than half the managers in this division put together. He comes at a price, but he's back and already working wonders.

Well not all part time footballers are thick & unemployable, some could be skilled tradesmen, or graduates with a profession. My point is that the board need to be proactive & look into employment & housing.

There is something wrong with spirit, money or manager when there are changes at this time of the season. Action should have taken place when Nicholson took over. Or is it all three that's gone wrong. :B

I understand the sentiment but this thread seems a little over the top to me. All there has been is a few people voicing anger at the current plight we find our club in. Hardly surprising when you look at the table and the wins column.

The players get clapped off the pitch everyweek and gates remain relatively high. I reckon we must be the most patient set of fans in English football. Just look at Villa.

I actually think it's a very thoughtful thread. However the fact remains we are three players down and I really don't see how that equates to anything that makes sense. Please prove me wrong and show me by Monday night that we are for the fight.

I've been waiting for today to be able to reply to this....what happened? where are the signings the man (who I can only assume is John Milton) suggested? The only player we've signed is a midfielder we already had on trial, who has only been signed because Marsh was flogged off. Delusional doesn't begin to describe it.

How embarrassing would it be if you went in too early with this!
