Why are we spouting off to all, about players not being under contract year.
Tonge leaves and a RB comes in, possibly Berry if he is not wanted by others.

think youre missing the point.

tonge will be leaving, but if CH is as keen on Berry as he says, the problem is Berry can leave at any time as hes a non-contract player.

cant let the little sod hold us to ransom, who does he think he is, no one else has offered him anything, so he cant be that highly thought of, offer him an appropriate contract for a kid in a middling conference side, if not let him walk
still keeping the faith

I will pledge a tenner (will put it in if we get nearer the target) - You need to get this to a wider audience than the ten people on here though. How about the Herald?

It's been covered on all TU related forums and I've seen it get a mention on yellow army Facebook page, so it's out there. I, like most will back it when I know it has official backing, and once again all credit to PlainmoorRoar for doing this.

The club do seem aware but appear to be more interested in their own idea.http://mobile.torquayunited.com/news/ar ... 64444.aspx

I don't know why people have to wait? No money comes out until the target is reached. The more pledged now the more impact there will be

I think other potential sponsors are waiting for official confirmation from the club that they are happy to receive monies raised towards Durrell's wages SHOULD he be staying & not already en route elsewhere. I agree that a £ 1500 sum raised looks better than £ 350 ! I tweeted Durrell to let him know that we want him to stay ! Here's hoping, but credit to Roar for starting this ! In the future, hopefully TUST can be a voice for us.

Simply because, one; We do not know what the official target is, all very well someone saying £2,000 should do it, is that figure correct ? Two; We do not know whether club will even accept the money, if Berry is asking for wages well above any wage structure put in place at the club, the club may not want this regardless of it being crowd funded. We are all aware, our money would be returned.

As said, I've got nothing but respect for PlainmoorRoar for doing this, but it's over to the club now. Does Chris Hargreaves still want to sign Durrell Berry ? How much money do we actually have to raise, is the target achievable ? Will the club accept the money if the target is reached ?

Really straight forward decision for the club to take here, if £2,000 is a genuine target, all the club have to do is publicly back this, judging by the amount already raised, can not see Roar having any problem raising the money.

It seems odd that we have another right back on trial - if thats the case maybe CH sees him as a better player than Berry - dont really know.

Or a better long term value for money option, I will back this Berry thing however as soon as I know the club do.

apparently Woodards is versatile in defence but can be injury-prone; he came in on trial a week ago. At that stage, CH was aware that there were no funds for signing Berry, so he had to be looking elsewhere. He couldn't have known then that Roar would start -up an appeal. Of course, we still don't know how much money is required, or even if Durrell wants to stay !!!

When you're working off a very tight budget that would suggest Woodards as a value for money option. Having MacDonald and Woodards who can both play at Right back and in the centre gives us greater cover, rather than having an expensive specialist right back, as for being injury prone, so was Downes when he arrived so far I would suggest AD has missed more games through suspension.
