According to CH quoted in an article on today's BBC Sport website the Club still cannot afford to pay Durrell what he wants for a contract.
What a pity the person who stumped up £50,000 for Billy Bodin didn't wait as Berry is a class act and sadly could be off before the Transfer Window closes; hope I'm wrong but if so he would be a big loss.

Dare I say this, but it's being suggested on the capital gulls forum that the player on trial is Danny Woodwards, which may suggest Chris Hargreaves is already looking for a new and more permanent right back.

Do you mean Danny Journeyman Woodards? Formerly of Excretia, Yeovil, MK Dons etc? Or Edward "Mr Callan" Woodward. Either way, they are knocking on a bit
And neither are prospects for selling on at a profit.
Now, if 2000 fans each donated £10 to help along a contract for Durrell, might that not be a shrewd bit of business?
Whoops. Sorry. I gather Mr Woodward OBE died in 2009

Id donate £10 towards signing Berry
Shame the TUST isn't running at a lot more members,
A contribution from that towards the wages might be enough

That's the one. Going on what the club are likely to be paying now, unemployed journey men and fresh faced realised kids is what we're going to attract, that's where we are as a club now.

As opposed to the classy, cultured type we used to get in?forevertufc wrote:That's the one. Going on what the club are likely to be paying now, unemployed journey men and fresh faced realised kids is what we're going to attract, that's where we are as a club now.
Matt.

Welcome back Matt where have you been ? As to your point, the clubs transfer policy over the years since the current board took over has been much improved on what went before. More transfer fee's paid, 2 year contracts awarded, decent wages paid, decent players attracted, and the days of signing a new team from a load of trialists seemed to be gone forever, I'm suggesting the dark days of the past in terms of bringing new players has returned.

Well if they won't be, i've been thinking about this tonight and would be awesome if we could as TUFC fans do something!nickbrod wrote:Yes, I'd add to the kitty!
This is just an occasion when it would be good to see the Club proactive.
Is it enough? I don't know, but it could be and i don't mind giving it a dam good go!

Well, you and i certainly have our differences PR but i have to give the thumbs up for this post and you wanting to make a difference by actually DOING something about a situation. If others would grasp the nettle and follow suit then TUFC is in a lot healthier position going forward. It's one of the few posts i've seen encouraging change. I also saw your post on the TUST thread encouraging new members and that is what TUFC need more of. Proactiveness and willingness to participate. Hats off.

Strangely enough it was Pope Gregory the 9th inviting me for drinks aboard his steam yacht, the saucy sue currently wintering in montego bay with the England cricket team and the Balanese Goddess of plenty.

The ball is rolling....
We need to hit the £2000 mark which is a great gesture in the right direction. £20,000 would be more like it though, so pass the word round!!
