The truth is both side cancelled each other out in the first half and in the second we could have played without a goalkeeper as Rice did not have a shot all night to deal with.
The second half was one way traffic and Wright their keeper was outstanding but we had injuries to McDonald and Ives.
The penalty shoot out I thought we took one less than Tiverton but I'm sure the ref was not that bad. :keepie:

Second string lose against Tiverton in their cup final in what for us is basically a friendly. You'll forgive me if I don't lose any sleep over this.

Matt.

TUFC: Rice, Berry, MacDonald, Downes, Ives, Richards, Harding, Chaney, Parcell, Benyon, Bowman

So apart from Sullivan and Hutchings who were illegible because of loans, brisco, pearce and chappell because of injury this was the strongest Squad we could have put out.

Hardly 2nd string it's the defence everybody was screaming for after Saturday and with duane and ajala coming on at half time it's a very strong team only Luke Young missing.
Cmon Matt your better than that it's no 2nd string !

I think only those that attended can give a true evaluation of this game.

Were the players committed?
Was the passing and ball control good or poor.
Was there good organisation.
How was the confidence

Ah well not to worry-we've still got the FA Trophy to play for.
Though no doubt we'll get drawn away to Barnstoneworth United in the first round-and lose!

So were they playing 4-3-3 or was Chaney on the wing? How did he and Parcell do? What about Berry?

Teams are pressing us as they know we play from the back and our players are not comfortable as they have lost confidence. Hargreaves needs to change his game plan as teams have sussed us out. The problem last night is the same old problem not being able to score. Tiverton had an experienced
manager who had a good game plan and he set out the second half to not concede by playing ten players behind the ball. It was obvious that he had told his players to frustrate and hope for a break and get the game to penalties.
We were unlucky to lose but how often have we said that. :keepie:

We lost on penalties. Achepong. Hit his penalty so high it probably landed in Castle circus!
It was a competitive game and territorially we dominated.
Rice didn't have a save to make barring a penalty in the shoot out.
Bowman played first half, a few nice touches but powder puff shooting. Have to say Benyon looks on last nights performance should be selected in front of Bowman.
Berry at right back looked very useful, certain to start at Barney.
Levi Ives looked more than useful, should play at Barnet. Wish he would sign a contract.
Good return for Mickey Parcell, definatley one for the future that also applied to Sam Chaney who always looks comfortable on the ball.
Toby Ajala worked his socks off even struggling with a sore calf, he deserved to score with a couple of good efforts from distance.
Achepong, a nice touch but doesn't look like a goalscorer.
We deserved to win the game but things are worrying when we can't beat Tiverton with a pretty strong line up.

Its good to see Benyon back at long last. When fit and on form he is a better player than Bowman.

It seems odd though that the like of Niall Thompson,Pearce and Yeoman didn't play as these are the sort of players that need some gametime.

I think this has proved that it doesn't matter who we play, we will currently find a way to lose, regardless of opposition.
Confidence is clearly shot to pieces, which is the managers job to rectify.
Embarrassing defeat with a strong side put out.
Lets hope both Pearce and Macdonald aren't both injured.

Thompson and Pearce were injured in the final minutes at Kidderminster I think.
