Sad news-one of the 1966 vintage team.Very good player(underated in my view),son Maurice also played for us.
Nice bloke too-real shame he won't be with us for the Spurs match celebrations.

This is sad news. An excellent player and a proper gent. Will always remember him scoring against Leyton Orient I think with a lobbed shot outside the penalty area at the Ellacombe End. 1966 I think. Think the Herald Express said 'Cox keeps his cool' or something like that.

So sorry to hear of the passing of Geoff Cox,a very important part of the team and someone who allways gave 100% effort in every game.Puts things into perspective and hope our present young players go out and do him proud at Barnet,he would expect nothing less.
Thanks for the memories Geoff.

Yes - sad news indeed. Geoff Cox was a good hard working player who was at the club when it was in much better shape than it is currently.

A great player and true professional in his day and, by all accounts, a fine man. I once had the honour of playing against him as a 16 year old rookie keeper. Geoff was playing for TUFC ex-professionals in a benefit/charity match, a couple of seasons after his retirement. I copped a 30 yard screamer from him which, if I hadn't been positioned beyond the 6 yard line would surely have carried me through the goal net - he had a kick like a mule! Great memories - RIP Geoff.

I saw Geoff play many times and he was without doubt one of my all time favourite players.
A real Gent and a credit to the game.
Like so many players he chose I believe to remain in Torbay after he left the game.
RIP Geoff

I remember Geoff when he was signed in 1957 as a right winger. As a winger he made Nico look like a sprinter.
However when he eventually he played in the old inside right position and later as a wing half or mid fielder what a transformation.
In all his appearance I can't recall him having a bad game.
The ultimate professional. Great passer, tackler, good in the air and always likely to score a goal. R.I.P Geoff.
