Were Karl Hawley and Billy Bodin missing from the photo? Has Bodin actually left yet?

Be interesting to see if Hawley get a squad number (whenever they are confirmed). Perhaps a move is imminent?

I believe we are trying to get some of his wages paid in a longer term loan move. It is clear CH has decided he has no future here.

I think that is probably the right move. Someone a while ago suggested Hawley as an attacking mid, and against Wimbledon away he actually did really well in that role. Problem is, as soon as Hawley misplaces a pass or misses a shot the crowd would be on his back, and Plainmoor would feel like it did in the dark depths of last season. Disappointed at our lack of strength at fullback, but otherwise I'm pretty happy with our squad going into the new season.

Has it been listed anywhere what squad numbers the players have this season? Most other clubs seem to have done so.

Nice to see a proper 1-11 for 4-4-2. Few interesting ones. Tongue and Downes have first eleven numbers and Harding has the number 6 shirt ahead of Richards.
I think if that 1-11 is Greavsie's first choice then we look pretty good (on paper at least!).

Cheers gullno4.
Another question(s) for you all... does anyone know how long Ashley Yeoman's contract is for?
Finally, I see Levi Ives has a squad number but what sort of contract is he on?

Yeoman was given a one year contract (so to next summer), and as far as I am aware Ives hasn't had a pro contract yet, so is on a normal youth contract.

I'm not sure how the youth contracts work, but I'm sure last time around in the conference, we had yeoman and another (Jordan Charran?) come on as subs in a couple of games, and as far as I'm aware they were both still in their youth scholarships?

Interesting to see Hawley hasn't got a number (only just picked up on this, sorry).

I would have thought that won't help the morale of someone who is still our player. CH making it very clear he doesn't want him here, the sooner he leaves the better really for all concerned, as he doesn't look like he has that 'prove em wrong' attitude anymore. Shame, as I was a Hawley sympathiser from the beginning. He made it harder and harder for me to defend him.

So you're the one !!! Actually I will come out of the closet and admit I was also a Hawley sympathiser. He was expected to play a role - target striker - he's not equipped to play. Played alongside a half-decent striker such as Ryan Bowman, we could have possibly seen a different player. Against City, he came on as sub and almost the first thing he was asked to do was take a penalty. Stupid. We know what happened and to miss a penalty against City consigned him to the scrap heap for evermore. In his favour, he never hid - he always worked his socks off and tackled back but it seems he is destined to move on. I doubt that there will be many regrets but I wish him well.

On the subject of failed Gulls strikers, I see that Alan Connell has today re-joined Grimsby where he had a very successful season or two.

Ha yes, there's two of us then. I knew him from his Carlisle days as my Dad's a Cumbrian, so I hoped he would do well for us as well but it was not to be. I do agree though - I think he was signed in the hope that he could fill the shoes of a one Mr Rene Howe and that was never going to happen. Never really deployed to his strengths and I don't think he has enjoyed his time here at all.
