Was thinking that it would have been better if Knill hadn't saved us from relegation.

1) last season was dire and conference football would have been better
2) we wouldn't have been lumbered with knills signings for 2 years. And let's face it we are gonna be lumbered with them for another season.
3) we would not have had knill at all last season
4) our finances would be in better shape now as we wouldn't have had to pay him off

None of that is true, or even likely to be true. I'm as upset as you are, but don't lie to yourself about it, that's a path that leads only to ruin.

Agree with 2.5 of the questions.

Yes last season was dire, but why would you want conference football instead of league football, strange!

No Alan Knill sounds good and the 2 year contracts given to most of his signings.

However why would our finances be better, we would have lost FL funding/TV rights etc(worth 500k+) against a payout of about 80k, so that can't make club finances better.

Ultimately why would wanting our club to be relegated be a good thing, strange thread but equally your entitled to your opinion

Not "wanting" to be relegated! But we have been, and we have several players transfer listed who let's face it we ain't gonna shift. And they will suck the finances out of this club this coming season and by any stretch of the imagination they are not good enough for conference football. So we will be stuck with them which limits our chances of signing anyone else. In fact I wouldn't be surprised if we can't sign anyone conference standard until we can get rid of at least a couple of them. Its a very dire situation.

1) Had the club been relegated the year previous, the football would have been as equally dire, in fact taking into account some of the opposition even more so.

2) Had Alan Knill's promised budget not been cut ( believed to be in the region £250k ) it's highly likely, we would have seen Cooper at left back and Benson up front, as it's widely believed AK had both lined up to join and thought he had the budget to do so, what was two of our biggest problems last season LB/scoring goals, cant put that forward as fact, know where the information originates from and personally believe it to be correct, up to individuals whether they want to believe it or not. So we wouldn't been lumbered with some players Knill signed as alternatives to certain players he wanted to.

3) If not Knill who do you think we would have had as manager ? bring the clock forward 12 months would CH been ready, he had little or no first team coaching experience 12 months prior, so who.

4) How would our finances be in any better shape ? we still had to pay off both Martin Ling and Shaun Taylor, and we would have lost all the sponsorship and funding that goes with being a league club 12 months earlier than we did.

The football was pretty dire 12 months before Alan Knill came anywhere near our club, I do not blame in any way, either ML or AK, we've just suffered an entirely avoidable relegation. In conclusion, only if the club had given Martin Ling the support and backing he needed when we were sat 2nd in league 2.

For a start we may have enjoyed 1 maybe 2 seasons as a League 1 club. Two, we would NOT have ended up paying off two managers and one assistant, and it's quite likely we would still be a League club, so a question, taking in to account all that, what shape do we think our clubs finances would be in now ? Those on the board who seemed to have taken decisions to penny pinch and do everything on the cheap are to blame.

Mr Blobby as manager would have been better than Knill. Or a random choice of who played each week. We couldn't have done any worse. Weve been relegated and have 6 or 7 useless players on big wages for another season.

Mr Blobby or I suppose you mean Manse or Nicho, Jesus your not really thinking about this are you, you're in the I hate Knill camp, and that's fair enough, and just throwing around daft suggestions of how we could have been better of if he'd never come near the club.

This whole thing was really quite simple and didn't need over complicating , the clubs biggest priority should have to maintain it's league status, see, season tickets sales, that's what it was all about, above all else and everything else, the club did not need to sack 2 managers and 1 assistant, all it needed to do was give as much finance and as much support to it's manager(ML) as it could in the first place , some will tell the club did that, I'll will till the club clearly did not, evidence, we went down.

just because I dont like CH as our manager does that mean i want us relegated right now to the conference south?
