One Point out Of Fifteen!!!!
One Point out Of Fifteen!!!!
Well thats what our manager, his side kick and his clueless bunch of wet wipes have managed in their response to trying to beat the drop.
I didn't listen today as I was out at a local game - I didn't have to as soon as I heard the team line up I knew we would lose easily.
Hargreaves might have got away with it by playing two unfit players in Stevens and Harding but it was never ever going to happen twice in a row.
Just caught the managers interview - "best team in the first half" "should have had a penalty" "pick a team to beat Fleetwood"
**** off Chris - you are taking the piss.
Not sure what Hodges brings to the party . He was crap as a player when he was here before - jobs for the boys as usual.
I will give Hargreaves his due though - he has somehow managed to be more clueless than Alan Knill. That really is a feat in itself.
What the hell has he signed? Rudge,Fudge,O.Brien,Wilkinson,Cooper (wheres he),Stevens,Goodwin - bloody hell its a joke (or would be if its funny).
The worry is that he is going to be here next season - he is showing the disturbing trait of not knowing a decent player if one bit him on the arse.
Bodin turned out on Tuesday night but didn't make the bench today - doesn't look like he was fit enough after all. Another indication of how desperate the manager is.
This is worse than useless.

Read this and LEAVE Chris Hargreaves alone, not his fault nor Alan Knill's not even Martin Ling's, we've got just what we asked for......http://www.torquayheraldexpress.co.uk/S ... z2ujltVsdi.

Hargreaves is inexperienced. He is perhaps out of his depth being thrown in the deep end, trying to rectify the mess Knill left behind. He has done worse than I imagined he would but I suspect he will learn from this. The problem before is that we had an experienced manager who just consistently failed wherever he was.
Brucie,
Can you explain to me what exactly do you intend or aim to achieve by such a thread?

If you read the link you will see all we got were 'free' loans, it's an interesting read, give it a go.

Good posting Bruce.
It doesn't prove anything nor does putting your head in the sand and saying we have a good team but lose every week.

I have read it but we are assuming what is written is correct - its more than likely just someones opinion.
Hargreaves persists with Goodwin week in week out. By his own admission Hargeaves states that he isn't a winger. He just isn't better than Chapple. Cameron played eighteen games for Rotherham last year under Steve Evans who was hardly likely to have played him if he was that bad.
Hartlepool had a player on loan from Man Utd who scored today - Hargreaves signed Rudge who never even made the subs bench.
Hargreaves signed O'Brien from Millwall when Marquis was the player we needed.
Our position is now far worse than it was when Hargreaves arrived.
Saying that this has nothing to do with the current manager is quite frankly ridiculous.
Our midfield today included two players who havn't kicked a ball in anger for nigh on six and twelve months respectively.
Signing Stevens was always going to be a complete waste of time - he wasn't any good when he got released. No other club would touch him with a ten foot bargepole yet now he is good enough for our first team when he hasn't played football for a year.
That isn't good management. Hargreaves is culpable.

When Stevens came as a sub for 5 minutes in his first game back, you blamed him for producing a shit display although it was just for 5 minjutes (how can you judge on that I don't know). When he started against Burton and was one of our best players you intentionally missed a comment on him in you match opinion. Now, after having a bad game today you are on his back again. Is that fair? Judging players only when they perform bad and pretend nothing has happened when they perform good? Any patter arising here Brucie? Is there anything which would make you happy? You don't bring anything good by threads such as this one. If managing a football team is as easy as you describe it...then even the disabled homeless dogs in Eastern Europe would do it.

He'll get all the experience he wants next season.yellowsmiffy wrote:I'm not going to blame Hargreaves for this. As I have said all along, I think he's the right man for this club at completely the wrong time. He needed a pre-season and possibly even a spell at a non-league club to get his experience first. Why he chose Torquay over Northampton I will never know, as he could have had a nice pot of gold for transfers. Torquay was the hardest job in English professional football, and we went for a novice.
This is down to the players being completely f*cking sh*t. They are a complete bunch of deadwood nobodies who don't have careers in this sport. The ones that do have talent are being dragged down by the complete ineptitude of the idiots around them and have become panicky and mistake-ridden in their performances.
Yeah I know Hargreaves has played Stevens etc, but he's seen something we haven't seen in training and he's played with him etc. The loan signings have been gash, but I'm too apathetic to bother writing any more. He;s made mistakes but anyone who thought he wouldn't is also an idiot.
TUFC never fails to let its fanbase down.

The Board made a huge mistake getting rid of Ling. I think Hargreaves will make a decent fist of it in the Conference as long as he ditches the high earning under performers.
MH91 - Stevens was on the pitch for 14 minutes not five as you state. I didn't blame him for anything, I said that he only touched the ball once in the Accrington match which was true.
So on the basis of touching the ball once in 15.5% of a game (that was percentage time he was on the pitch) Hargreaves started him in the Burton game. Quite what he saw in Stevens performance against Accrington to promote him to a starting berth in the next game was quite frankly unclear because he had been a passenger.
I wasn't at the Burton game - the commentators said that Stevens didn't do anything on the ball but did good work off it (whatever that meant)
If he was our star performer I am not sure why he got substituted.
More than one person has said that Stevens was our worst player today and was responsible for their first goal.
So on that basis I still think he was a pointless signing. I also said that he hasn't played football for over a year so I didn't expect him to do anything today.
That isn't so much his fault as the managers for playing him.

Bury was the only club Knill managed where his win rate was better than his lose rate.
