Torquay song
I was thinking about this and was wondering if anyone could do something with "Come On Eileen" (come on Torquay?) the old Dexys Midnight Runners song. I'm not sure if any other teams use it, but it could be quite a good fun song. Just a thought.

"Thing's turn out best when you make the best of the way thing's turn out."

Good idea....
...... and I also like (...to the tune of Jesus Christ, Super Star):
Chris Hargreaves. Super star.
Don't where a cravat or a bra
Chris Hargreaves. Super star.
Looks like Jesus
Near or Far
Chris Hargreaves, Yellow Blue Army

There is also a problem with the songs lyrics e.g 'With you in that dress'
For some that will conjure up unpleasant images of cross-dressing Austrian Anthea
More suitable for the Ladies team I would have thought. Not that I know how many Eileen's they've currently got in their starting eleven.I was thinking about this and was wondering if anyone could do something with "Come On Eileen"

Hey Chris we’re all so glad
You took a bad team and made em better
We always knew you had the Gulls in your heart
Now you start to make em greater

Needs a bit of tweeking, I think, Dave.

"Thing's turn out best when you make the best of the way thing's turn out."
Does need a bit of tweaking but has the makings of a nice intro. Better, better, better, BETTER, needs to be immediately before the la, la, la, lalalala, lalalala, imo. Just like the original.

Now we've got Greavsie, things do seem better
The yellow army will make a mighty noise
We'll cheer on the team and we won't stop singing
Torquay, TUFC,
Oh how we love to see our team winning
We hate the Red lot and the green lot up the road too
It's not hard to see why - we are just better
Better, better, better, better, naaaa
Na, na, na, nananana, nananana, TORQUAY (repeat ad-nauseum)

I've always thought a good song to do would be a tongue-in-cheek version of the famous Millwall 'No one likes us' except it would go:
No one hates us, no one hates us, no one hates us, we don't care, we are Torquay, super Torquay, we are Torquay from Plainmoor!
No one hates us, no one hates us, no one hates us, we don't care, we are Torquay, super Torquay, we are Torquay from Plainmoor!

I like that. Be great to sing seeing as Exeter and Plymouth always remind us that they 'don't care about us'.
Also, how about this one:
I don't care about City
They don't care about me
All I care about
Is TUFC
(Repeat until bored)

at the moment the most apropriate song to sing would be the Three Degrees-"When will I see you again" !

Ha ha very good. Some of our players might retire before we get to see them at Plainmoor again.Behind-the-Gulls wrote:at the moment the most apropriate song to sing would be the Three Degrees-"When will I see you again" !

If the Northampton game gets called off on Tuesday, I think a variation on you're supposed to be at home should be sung, "What"s it like to play at home".

Maybe our song should be "it's Raining again"
