In fairness this is fresh information about how impressed Hargreaves is with him and if we were not in a dogfight how he might start him most weeks

This is probably an indication of how bad Hawley is, rather than how good Yeoman is.Richinns wrote:In fairness this is fresh information about how impressed Hargreaves is with him and if we were not in a dogfight how he might start him most weeks

Hawley - what do we do with him? Sat on another year on probably a fair wedge. I believe he is homesick but who would give him a chance with the form he has shown? Difficult situation.Fonda wrote: This is probably an indication of how bad Hawley is, rather than how good Yeoman is.

I'm really not sure what to make of Hawley. His spell at Carlisle would suggest he is a good player and can score goals.
I was surprised and confused when we signed him. Up until that point everything had been pointing towards Benyon being a regular starter with a big man to play along side him with Yeoman and Sullivan and in emergency Bodin as his backups. I was never sure how and where Hawley was supposed to fit in. It always seemed like something of a panic signing.
Given the time left on his contract and the fact he has done nothing to interest managers of other clubs and given his experience I am assuming he is on a good wage I would be happy to see Greavsie trying to accommodate him at some point. I think at this point though I would be looking for him to be Benyon's backup to play alongside Stockley (or A.N. Other), if Yeoman or anyone else pushes themselves in the queue ahead of him then so be it. Maybe with Yeoman back in the fold cutting our losses and looking for a mutual termination is the way to go, would then give a little more wiggle room in the wage budget for a new signing...

Do players at this level have it built into their contacts that if relegated they get contracts either terminated or a reduction in wages. i think this happens with premiership contracts.

I think at most levels there are clauses for wage increases and decreases depending on promotion/relegation.Neal wrote:Do players at this level have it built into their contacts that if relegated they get contracts either terminated or a reduction in wages. i think this happens with premiership contracts.
