ipod

Post by MidDevon »

I have a question on iPods that someone a bit more technical may help me with ?

I got one of those iPod things and have started the enormous task of downloading my cd collection onto iTunes and then onto my iPod (30 uk subs CDs alone!)

Some of my CDs are quite well used and scratched, yet when I upload these scratched ones onto my iPod the quality was much better than the cd.

My question is does iTunes use a "library" copy of the cd when you download it? Or does it copy the actual cd....if it's the later why are their no jumps etc?

It's the playback method. From a damaged cd being played through a cd player the laser tries to play the file through the scratched surface. The file is still there intact so it can usually be exported to another storage facility and play perfectly from there.
